Montross [link] , Mchalftroll [link] , and I would like to invite you all to participate in our first Original Character Battle Contest! All characters are welcomed to participate in this contest, so join us and have fun!

: THE CONTEST :

This is an original character contest, where various artist's will submit their own characters against others in combat. How this works is that each artist is given a set time limit of 10 days to come up with their own version of their character's victory over their opponent's character. After the 10 day time frame is up, the submissions are judged and a winner is proclaimed based on certain criteria that will be explain below.

"Dear contestant,
You have been invited to participate in the first ever Haven City Arena Tournament by City Councilman Fishback, and the notorious Arena Judges Montross, and McHalftroll. Not only do monumental adventures await you, but also a prize of unfathomable wealth and power. Please note that your ticket and money for passage have been included."

: PLOT :

Your character receives the invitation posted above that beckons them to travel to the far and distant metropolis of Haven City, a fortress city-state located far in the frozen north. The city itself is designed in a circular format with a large government tower looming in center, marking the location of the city's ruling council center business management. The tower is visible from every angle in the city and is a reminder to the people of Haven City that they are under constant scrutiny. Access to the city is almost exclusively via train, as the frozen terrain outside the safety of Haven City's walls is certain death, either by snow pirates or the elements.

: Rules and Guidelines :

CONTEST RULES-

1.) EXCESSIVE VULGARITY: Offensive material should be kept to a minimum By offensive material we mean don't go teabagging your opponent after you've hewered his intestines into spaghetti.

2.) RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT: Although depicting violence in an entry is essential, here there is a line. Have a sense of courtesy with your opponent's character. Defeat them however you see fit, but keep in mind you're dealing with someone else's creation here. Also, if you are submitting your character, you should know going in that your character will be getting his ass kicked by your opponents, so lets have no undue fussing. It will not put you in the Judges' favor.

3.) NO GOD PLAYING: Your character may be a bad ass, but that's no reason for us to see him one shot KO his opponents battle after battle. Let us see him get battered and struggle a little. He may be a master of a thousand different martial arts, but he's not perfect. Juggernaut character types are acceptable, but be reasonable and realistic with your delivery.

4.) A CLEAR VICTOR: In all submissions you must show us a clear victory over your opponent. If the judges have to actively look for the victor of your comic we will dismiss the entry and you.

: JUDGING CRITERIA :

We will judge all entries on the criteria that:

1.) They follow the rules posted above

2.) You are creative with the story you tell in your submission

3.) Effort. Just because you aren't the greatest artist doesn't mean you will loose. Half-assing it, on the other hand, won't be looked upon kindly and you will be much more likely to lose.

: SUBMISSION GUIDELINES :

1.) NO FAN BASED CHARACTERS! This pretains to any characters based off a pre-existing series/book/movie/anime/manga/comic. Come up with your own character. We do not want to see Jedi, Spartans (Halo or 300), Naruto ninjas, or 'Bleach' soul-reapers running around here.

2.) To submit, please include the following: a full body reference sheet clearly depicting your character and his/her abilities and accessories. Remember to be reasonable. Magic is acceptable, but be sure to clarify what kind.

3.)In addition to your character you must also submit a 1 page comic strip depicting your character's arrival in Haven City. The purpose for this is primarily to define your character's personality and motivations.

4.) To submit your character, note either Montross, Mchalftroll, or myself with your character's name and a link to him/her and we will add your character to our roster.

: NOTICE :

We will ultimately choose only 32 participants once the April 3rd deadline has been reached. Once 32 have been acquired we will close off any more entries.
