Fast approaching is a day that advocates for mental health patients, bringing light in today's day and age with lack of education and awareness to something so plaguing.
As you know, our original seven deadly sins were: Pride - Wrath - Lust - Gluttony - Envy - Sloth and Greed. But lately, the Vatican decided to create new ones, and they are called just like this (of course I don´t know if it is true, since I only caught it up in the media...) 1) Genetic Modification 2) Experimenting on Humans 3) Pollution of the environment 4) Cause social injustice 5) Cause poverty 6) Becoming over-wealthy 7) Taking drugs
I don´t have a certain opinion about that, but just wanted to inform you, since this might me a topic which would interest some or even many of you. But... If you asked me, it´s pretty nonsense to change the deadly sins. Not because the new ones sound a little bit silly - somehow, the Vatican doesn´t set it´s focus on the religion but rather take the advantage to "straighten" the people. If you would analyse the points 6 & 5, you´d notice that their meanings would conflict each other. Everywhere where you can find wealth, even if it is just a small, there will be also poverty. And if there is poverty, the people scream and shout about the social injustice (point 4), which is caused by those mighty people (this includes singers, hollywood stars, kings&queens, presidents...) And looking at the progress of technolgy, which is only going forward because people want some things more and more comfortable, of course, the environment will be polluted (point 3). Not to mention the other points... That´s what I´d say about this issue, but I´d also like to know your opinions about this, either in a religious or non-religious suspect.
