So you know how every once in a while you'll click on a
news item or
journal that has nothing but thumbnails... like 100 or 200 or even more?
Or perhaps you let your devWatch section get out of control to a few hundred or even few thousand unseen deviations?
Usually I just look at that huge number of thumbnails and freak out... all the clicking and then clicking back and waiting for the entire page to load again and then again... and again

Well, not anymore.
I thought I'd write a quick little guide on how to take care of that huge number deviations in a much shorter time.
It's all done using a handy little browser plug-in/add-on called
PicLens. (and before any of you hard core Internet Explorer or Safari users start moaning... don't worry, they've got you covered too

)
So, all you need to do is go to the
PicLens site... find the browser/operating system you use and install the software following the instructions they give. You'll probably need to restart your browser...
Now that you're back... you need a page with a truck-load of thumbnails... here's one:
[link]Once the page has loaded, hover your mouse over a thumbnail. A little blue button with a play icon in it should appear... just click on it. The deviations on that page will load up on a 3D 'wall' which you can drag forward and back to browse the deviations small... but that's not it yet... when you see something interesting, click on it once, and it'll become bigger... and if you want to see it even bigger, double click. There you have it full screen... with no distractions... the way art is meant to be seen, and you can browse all the deviations full screen using your forward and back arrows, or use the browser at the bottom of the screen that shows up when you move your mouse.
When you've seen a few X out of the full screen browser, and you'll be taken back to the page with the thumbnails. Now, any deviations that you liked can be just dragged to the top of your screen... into your
favs/collections... and if you really like it, or want to comment, just right-click and choose to open it in a new tab/window. Then go back to viewing full screen from where you left off using the little icon that shows up on that thumbnail again.
The reason I browse a few and then come back is so that I can remember to

/Collect the ones I like before they get lost in the crowds of other deviations... you can find whatever system works for you.
Thanks to the collections feature, combined with PicLens you too can become a dA power browser

I can't wait for FF3. I hear it supposed to handle memory much better, and hopefully the add-ons will work just as well.
