How do deviant artists choose who go on their ? Perhaps you have family or friends who you watch. Perhaps friends of friends. You may have searched through the favourites and wishlists of those you watch already and have found others that way. Clubs are also another good way of getting new watchers.

I am sure there are many ways to add people, but how many actually go through the Browse link and look at the recently uploaded photographs and/or other mediums of art? Do you have the time? Can you be bothered?

In the end, whether we are great, or not so great, we were all once newcomers to dA. We all wondered whether we would be good enough to have watchers or people our work. Some don't care if they have watchers or not. They are perfectly comfortable with what they do. Others just can't live without having at least one new person watch or fav them every day and tell them just how great they are - whether they are or not.

However, in my opinion, there are some real undiscovered gems on dA. They may not be professionals, they may not have large galleries. They definitely don't have a large base or many views. That is why I am hoping to do a bi-weekly newsletter, searching out those who I think deserve to have more watchers. This week I am concentrating on photography, mainly flowers. That doesn't mean the galleries are full of flowers, in some cases they have a wide range of other mediums.

Those I choose usually have less than 20 people watch them - some even less - and less than 2,500 page views, but I believe still have good quality photos/galleries.
