These are the amazing works that the makeup artists managed to produce for the last few weeks. I think you will agree that there are some of them that really are exceptional!
Here is a collection of mostly traditional works that will knock your socks off. There is everything from drawing to monotypes, landscapes to abstraction, enjoy.
They were collected throughout the past couple of weeks in the section for newly submitted deviations, and are mostly traditional drawings. Please show your support for these artists by faving their individual work and also this article so that more people can see it and do the same.
I posted on the forum asking people to show me their art including animals in the following mediums: traditional, digital, and photographs. In this article you can find their work.

If you are crazed about traditional art, love to mix& match styles or simply feel you need to show to the world the kind of individual that you are, then you just might have found the perfect spot to do it.

For most of us, when we are fall asleep we enter the world of dreaming, where creativity flourishes and ideas for our next painting and drawing start to surface. We are free of that part of our mind that judges new ideas as "good" or "bad" and so we are able to explore, experiment and grow. If you are anything like me, you keep a notepad close by to jot down those ideas that occur when you are asleep, so that you can write them down when you first awake and dont have to fear forgetting them. Now many of these never go anywhere, most for lack of time or clarity. But those thoughts that are reoccurring do often wind up in my work. It is when I am asleep that my mind continues to solve the problems of my paintings or drawings, and often the solution that seemed so problematic when I fell asleep, is crystal clear when I wake up.
Here are some wonderful examples of the art of sleeping, you can almost feel a part of the dreams of those pictured below...
Thank you for bringing these points up, they need to be promoted, seriously promoted! Being a creative dreamer for quite a while now, I have learned about so many places and ideas , that I would never had known about if i were "stuck' in the awake world for all of my creative time. Creativity is 24/7, we just need to have the mind set to access our subconsciousness when we sleep. It does take a lot of practice, ( and you don't need peyote ) You only need to be aware of the fact that you have the capabilty of infinite creativity within yourself...... When you first feel yourself slipping into sleep. tell yourself that "tonight, when I dream, I must look at my hands" (casteneda) After many tries and self realization, you WILL "see" your hands. It may take a very long time , but when you get there, you'll freak with joy! After that there is NO limits......thanks for the awesome thoughts.
I always try and fall asleep thinking about whatever Ive been working on in the studio... after a night of dreaming I always see it in a new light or a new direction and know what I need to do next. So much of our creativity can come to us in our sleep without the barriers of our waking minds and ego. You bring some excellent points to this discussion, that as artists we should learn to channel and use this productive downtime as effectively as we use our time awake!
I often do the the same as you, but sometimes, if I'm really stuck about something, I actually get "guides" that basically, give me the answers I'm looking for. And it all happens with just a smile or a nod from them, and I awake "knowing'. Too bad they can't speed me up a bit But that's ok, I'm in slow mo all the time anyway. Thanks for the great conversation, I still think you could sculpt though, truly, I do! Nice talking to you my friend, talk to you again soon, jack
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
