Turns out that the Miley Cyrus you see and hear about on Disney Channel is not who you think she is. Well, she is but in a different sense. Miley Cyrus's name is not really Miley. Actually, it's Destiny Hope Cyrus.

Turns out that Friday, MArch 11th, Hannah Montana filed official document papers requesting her name to be legaly changed from Destiny Hope Cyrus to Miley Ray Cyrus. Now, you're probably asking yourself, "Where did she get Miley from?" Well, that can be easily answered.

You see, when Miley was meerly a child, she always had a smile on her face. Her father, taking note of this, gave her the nickname "Smiley Miley" thus - Voila! - giving you the strangely unique name we all have come to know and love.

In a TMZ report, it tells that the documents, filed by Hannah Montana's parents Leticia and Billy Ray, indicate the reason for the name change as "Destiny Hope Cyrus has been commonly known as Miley Cyrus since she was a young child. The Change of Name is requested to make her commonly used name the same as her legal name."

So, until furture notice, you have to call Hannah Montana by her real name, Destiny Cyrus and nothing more! She can't start signing checks as Miley Cyrus until Los Angeles County Superior Court gives her the all clear.
