Fan Art Community News: Volume 3

Hello everyone! Welcome to the THIRD, yes third, edition of the Fan Art Community Newsletter! This is an update on all things Fan Art going around in the community, and it is a place for you to come and catch up on what has been going on officially in the Fan Art department. The majority of this newsletter is going to be about what YOU all are doing in the Fan Art community, so it is super important for you to note me with your happenings!

From the Fan Art Gallery Director:

I have quite a few things to let you guys in on, so I hope you are excited! We have the Book Club coming up soon, and we have paired up with the Artisan Crafts department for a FanCraftic Contest! Also, the two Ultimate Fandom Contests, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Book Characters have completed and the results are in! The votes were very tight, and there were many votes spread out through the entries-- it makes sense, all of the pieces were awesome! Thank you to all of the participants, voters and people who just generally pushed the contest. Here are the winners!

Ultimate Fandom Contest: Book Character Winners!

Here are the much anticipated winners for the contest! The prize structure has been changed to ensure that everyone has a fair shot at winning just by points regardless of how many pieces were in a specific category. Because of this, the prizes have also been dramatically increased as well. Congratulations to the winners!

We had a minor hiccup that led to an extension on voting, but ultimately, the winners were decided. The prize structure has been changed to ensure that everyone has a fair shot at winning just by points regardless of how many pieces were in a specific category. Because of this, the prizes have also been increased as well. Congratulations to the winners!

Note: I'm having a huge outpouring of notes, and I can't feature everyone all at once, so I'm featuring in an order. If you have submitted a note to me, don't worry! Yours will appear in a future volume!

Will focus mainly on our members, with spotlights and features regularly updated in the club journal, contests which will have comic based prizes, toys, and comic collectibles, and interviews in the near future too. Soon to add a comprehensive listing of comics based resources (Issues, runs, artists, articles, etc.), starting with Danger Girl, and moving into other related titles to help keep the club growing.

Special Features: One of the only theme park attraction-geared clubs on DA! All a person needs is a love for the mansion and they can become a resident!

Special features: contests every two months (giving lots of time for deviations to get their drawings finished), multiple entries to contests, one month nomination club featuring

Special Features: Regular contests, and also the fact that the club is an expansion of the Pixar Planet Website and forums, the biggest forums for Pixar on the internet, with its own podcast.

Special Features: Contests, Member spotlight, the ability to submit your anime and manga fan art creations!

The community experience here is inspiring, and I hope that each one of you really take the time to show someone new or someone who hasn't quite been so impacted by deviantART how special it is and how amazing it feels when you are really in the heart of the community.
