I am now hosting contests that happen all year round and will be annual. All of them have a reward of a free full color commission and a spot in the past winners list.

So far these are all the contests available for participation. "April Fool's Day" and "Earth Day" are going on now.

You must all know by now how much I love holding contests. This is a list of all the rules and history for the annual contests I hold. April 1 - April Fools’ Day
April Fools' Winners

Histiory:
April Fools’ Day, also known as All Fools’ Day, is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. Some people think the holiday arose in 1582 France when New Years Week was moved from March 25th thru April 1st to January 1st. But still some people were rebellious and still celebrated New Years on April 1st. These people were soon labeled as “fools” and were sent on “fool errands” as pranks.

Summary:
Draw and color, if you wish, someone getting pranked. Anybody. Give us a good laugh.

Rules:
1. Nothing that must be labeled under mature content, because then it’s not a prank and it’s not funny.
2. You cannot enter a picture that you have used in a previous contest. Please use a recent picture.
3. Entries are due by March 30th.
4. Votes must be submitted between March 30th and April 1st and no later than the 1st.
5. The Master of Ceremonies, me, cannot take part in entry or voting unless there is a tie for first.
6. Have fun. No, seriously. Have fun. Common, you get to prank someone!

Ideas:
Prank backfire. No, really, it’s still a prank. It’s just the prankster getting pranked instead of their victim. As far as what kind of prank, anything you want. Buckets of water, whoopee cushions, bug in ice, you name it, you can do it.

April 22 - Earth Day
Earth Day Winners

Histiory:
Earth Day came about when former Senator Gaylord Nelson began to worry about our planet. He tried talking to other lawmakers and even the President of the United States about the problems that our world was starting to see. They decided that the President would go around to each state to speak publicly about the dangers we were starting to face, but not enough people got interested. Six years later, the Senator had another idea. He decided to have a special day to teach everyone about how to care for our planet. 1970 the first Earth Day was held all over the county.

Summary:
Draw, and color if you want, someone, a real person or a character, going green or volunteering for an activity to save our earth!

Rules:
1. No mature content entries. We’re trying to SAVE the earth, not kill it…
2. You cannot enter a picture that you have used in a previous contest. Please use a recent picture.
3. Entries are due by April 20th.
4. Votes must be submitted between April 20th and the 22nd and no later than the 22nd.
5. The Master of Ceremonies, me, cannot take part in entry or voting unless there is a tie for first.
6. Have fun. We don’t want this to be a chore. D:

Ideas:
Plant a tree. That's an easy thought. But if you're not good at trees, maybe you want to show your subject cleaning a highway or teaching someone else about the earth or how filthy it is. Maybe have them leading an angry mob to the President’s doorstep asking him to do something about it. Don’t forget to wear green!

June 20 - Summer Solstice Day

Histiory:
The Summer Solstice is the single day of the year with the longest day and the shortest night for people in the northern hemisphere. It marks the official beginning of summer.

Summary:
Draw, and possibly color someone having fun-in-the-sun!

Rules:
1. No mature content entries. I would hope you subject doesn’t consider killing someone “fun-in-the-sun”.
2. You cannot enter a picture that you have used in a previous contest. Please use a recent picture.
3. Entries are due by June 18th.
4. Votes must be submitted between June 18th and the 20th and no later than the 20th.
5. The Master of Ceremonies, me, cannot take part in entry or voting unless there is a tie for first.
6. Have fun. It’s summer for crying out loud!

Ideas:
Who doesn’t love the beech? If you don’t like to draw water, show them at a fair with some cotton candy and a giant stuffed dog. Or someone biking, catching frogs, gone fishing, the possibilities are virtually endless!

June 22 - Deviant Appreciation Day
Deviant Appreciation Winners

Histiory:
The idea for Deviant Appreciation Day originally came from @Tachy-on who posted a forum thread back in April, 2007 saying how deviantART wouldn’t be what it is now without the deviants themselves. DeviantART has become an astounding community where many deviants of the four million form life-long friendships through their devmeets, sharing collaborations, or simply chatting with one another. So here the staff devide to hold an appreciation day for everyone on deviantART.

Summary:
Show your thanks to the dA community and staff for all their hard work.

Rules:
1. No mature content entries. The idea is to be NICE to people.
2. You cannot enter a picture that you have used in a previous contest. Please use a recent picture.
3. Entries are due by June 20th.
4. Votes must be submitted between June 20th and the 22nd and no later than the 22nd.
5. The Master of Ceremonies, me, cannot take part in entry or voting unless there is a tie for first.
6. Have fun. People don’t want to see a half-hearted “thank you”, that’s just rude.

August 8 - Tanabata Day
Tanabata Winners

Histiory:
Tanabata is a day when the stars, or spirits, of two lovers get a chance to meet in the sky. Japan holds a festival for three days, the fireworks to start the festival are on August 6th. There are two more days of the festival, the last day being Tanabata, on August 8th.

Summary:
Your task is to draw, and color if you wish, your favorite pair enjoying the festival whether they be real people or characters from somewhere.

Rules:
1. Nothing that requires mature content. I don't want to see too much skin considering that they wear kimonos, boys and girls.
2. This is a lover's holiday, your pair is allowed a kiss or hug of some sort. What fun would it be without one?
3. A kimono is just a nice robe, witch is easy, and so I'm requiring them.
4. You cannot enter a picture that you have used in a previous contest. Please use a recent picture.
5. Entries are due on the 6th when the fireworks start the festival.
6. Votes must be submitted between the 6th and the 8th and no later than the 8th.
7. The Master of Ceremonies, me, cannot take part in entry or voting unless there is a tie for first.
8. Just. Have. Fun. If you get an art block, look at some of those pictures that make you warm and fuzzy inside.

Ideas:
There are several things you can put in your pictures. Take food, for example. At the festival, they serve dumplings on a stick, fried squid, fried noodles, pocky, potatoes, chocolate-covered bananas, apricot candy, popsicles (the ones with two sticks that you can split) and several other treats. Most likely, the scenery will be in one of those shopping alleys with all those stands, but there are other places too. Other items you can use can be animal masks, bags of gold fish, stuffed animals, miniature statues, paper lanterns, and an array of other things that you could win from one of the game stands. Don’t forget the fireworks!

Kiribans
Kiriban Winners

Histiory:
Kiribans became popular on Japanese manga and anime sites where the certain numbered visitor got a prize. Many people on deviantART now use this idea on their web pages to promote their art.

Summary:
Catch the kiriban number on my page and send me a note with the screen shot.

Rules:
1. No fake screen shots.

Ideas:
Visiting me is the only way you’ll win this one. To capture a picture of your screen, simply hold down “shift” and hit the “SysRq/Print Screen” button to the right of the “F12” key. Open up a new document in Photoshop, hit “Ctrl+V” to paste then save the picture as a Jpeg. Upload it and send me a note.
