I've been running contests for a few different clubs, but I decided that it was time to host my own contest! We've all heard of the many different gods, heroes, and titans, that make up the religions of humanity. Each has a certain characteristic that we cherish or experience, such as love, fertility, pain, death, life, strength, etc. But, only few have focused on the past as something we came from instead of something we have to make up for.

Wars, famine, and death, tear people and civilizations apart, but interestingly enough, they bring families together and spark that one humble, yet powerful, feeling that becomes part of our legacy. Hope. We all cherish it, because it give us a chance.

That is where this contest comes in. You are to focus on an event that occurred in the past. But, it has to be an event that changed humanity forever. If you still do not know what I am blabbering about, I wrote my own example here, The Betterment For Humanity.

Rules
No slander, religious attacks, or racial slurs allowed.

there is no limit as to how many different pieces you can enter.

It does not have to be a new deviation.

poems have to be 50 words or more.

prose have to be 250 words or more.
