Printmaking produces images with visual qualities that are very different from those obtained through drawing or painting directly, and each technique adds its own peculiarities to the way each piece is conceived. However, with its odd and alchemical combinations of unusual materials, specific tools and enormous machines, Printmaking is often a strange and foreign territory even for artists accustomed to studio work on other disciplines.
A collection of traditional portraits from the DA! Traditional artists here have so much scope, talent and new insightful, inspirational work. Here are the ones I have come across, if anyone else has any suggestions feel free to comment or send me a note enjoy!

Watercolor art can be hard to find on DA, since the medium lacks its own designated section. Heres a sampling of some of the best watercolors Ive found on this site.
So, I've been meaning to share these lovely people with you guys for quite a while, some are known and some are less known, but they all have one thing in common.
Their use of the traditional medium in their artworks.
So here we go.
We start off with one rather known Deviant called `mooncalfe His art are mostly monochrome and his women have meat on their bones, which is always loved. I found him when reading the First edition Exalted books some 5 years ago and has loved his work ever since.
The next artist to be on this feature is =suicidalpanda a lovely traditional artist who I can say learn VERY quickly to handle what medium he's given to play with. His most resent conquest being copic markers.
Then we have one of our new additions to our ranks, ~Himmapaan who hails out of the UK and does fairytale art for books. The art is superb and this artist REALLY needs to be featured as the art MUST be seen.
One of the most amazing sketch works I've ever seen are made by the artist known as ~blackswordsman28. Inspired by War Hammer art, he's a person who LOVES to add detail to his work. Check him out.
And we finish off with one of my personal favourites, ~kiyo. Her art is a constant source of inspiration and her sense of detail are what makes me stare at her art in awe. She also do freelance work for White Wolf's RPG books.
Well that's all I have for today.
I hope you will enjoy these as much as I have. And while you're at it, check out my work as well... but only if you feel like it ^^
Wow... These pieces put my skills to shame.D: I need to do and put up more traditional works. I have doodles but no full scale drawings done traditionally. Thank you for showing me these amazing pieces and inspiring me to do more traditional works.: D
I think is the first time i'm seeing the traditional medium being shared like this! This is wonderful, the traditional medium is almost considered lika a "jurassic" thing... Nowadays, all i see - or at least 90% - in the work of others artists is digital!
As a traditional artist, i feel myself like a monster, something weird in the most of art galleries i post!
I love this artists you featured! Thank you for share with us! The traditional need more space in the web!
First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
