FCC Slams Comcast: Net Neutrality wins?

~Ryu-tso:iconRyu-tso: reports, July 12
FINALLY! For those that haven't been following the NN movement, Net Neutrality is the belief that the internet should be free to all consumers and not have your internet be monitored by your ISP.

Unfortunately for Comcast customers they discovered last summer that Comcast was limiting their usage of P2P programs such as Limewire and BitTorrent and then lying about it, saying "It was probably a technical glitch". But after extensive tests run by Carnegie Melon in conjunction with students from MIT, they found that Comcast was forging net connections which ended abruptly and stopped your download.

Comcast continued to deny it until Free Press dropped a lawsuit in their laps. The FCC agrees and will vote on the movement to fine Comcast for violating the Net Neutrality law.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! The websites you know and love could soon become unavailable as quickly as 2010...unless you're willing to pay.

Comcast, Verizon and AT&T are literally spending tens of millions of dollars to lobby Congress to drop the internet in their laps and let them decide how to use it. That means that you would have to actually PAY to get to high traffic sites that those companies do not own. Which means DeviantArt, MySpace, Facebook, Gaia and YouTube would be come unavailable for users who do not want to pay.

Speak up, Speak out, Rally your representatives and save the internet.

Such a ludicrous idea... "Creation science". Science isn't democratic and shouldn't be voted upon.

Go read a book, how can you criticize any side without knowing first both sides?

I have read and studied many books on either side, and when you put the too on the scale evolution fails to uphold itself.

"A Ludicrous ideal" how come thousands of scientists spend there whole life studying creation science ?
if the evidence for the ToE was so compelling then the Creation scientists would have no grounds to even attempt to put down the ToE, the fact is that The ToE is so riddled with lies/puzzles and the unknown that its ludicrous to accept it even as a theory.

If you want to debate lets go.

I like how you assume I've not read things. Strike one for ad homenum attacks.

How come 1,000s follow a ludicrious idea? How about, how can millions believe the Earth is flat. Numbers don't mean a thing if you're wrong. Strike two.

If you want to debate, I hope you wont' bring up defeated arguments such as bacterial phlagelum, irreducible complexity, and carbon dating. Instead of actually replying to you, I'll send you to where those "ideas" are destroyed.

Just in case you don't know, I also which to tell you that evolution has been proven through more than just biology, but also through geology, archeology, and even physics.

Yes people do believe in strange things. rock to human seems stranger than one believing in a flat earth. the reason why people bleive in a flat earth is because of that Bible quote "to the 4 corners of the earth. that quote comes up everyware outside of the Bible, North, East, South, West.....

"If you want to debate, I hope you wont' bring up defeated arguments such as bacterial phlagelum, irreducible complexity, and carbon dating. Instead of actually replying to you, I'll send you to where those "ideas" are destroyed."

Destroyed,OMFG you silly boy."

"Just in case you don't know, I also which to tell you that evolution has been proven through more than just biology, but also through geology, archeology, and even physics."

In reality Evolution destroys itself in all areas, unless your talking about Micro in which i believe happens, but everything else is based on assumptions and faulty guess work.

There are thousands of reasons

"Evolution is unproved and unprovable, the only reason we continue to believe it is that the only other possible way is Creation and that is unthinkable" - Sir Arther Keith.

I put up a 1 on 1 debate section on my journal if you wish follow the rules and lets have at it.
