As the first event to launch Project Educate: Anthro Week, here you have a really cool (and educative) contest helping you to understand the Anthro Art better.... and also to win awesome prizes!!!

Anthropomorphic is a word meaning "like a human." It is used to describe a well-known concept called anthropomorphism: ascribing human characteristics to a non-human being or object. The Subject:

We want you to draw (or sculpt, if you're able to) your human self portrait/caricature, and also your anthropomorphic version/character next to it. This will be both Anthro and Not Anthro, and it will be fun to see the similarities. ^____^

If you need some examples, here you have a couple of them:

The Rules:

1. Each artist can submit one or more pieces to the contest, there is not a limit so be creative! However, you can't get more than a prize, don't be greedy..... ;]
2. The entry needs to feature a self-portrait in anthro and non anthro (human) version of you, the artist, using digital art, traditional art, or mixed media, sculptures included.
3. Since it's a contest about Anthro Art Education, only Anthro Art following the Anthro Gallery guidelines can be accepted (with the exception of Sculptures, because they need to follow the Artisan Crafts Gallery guidelines.
4. Even if everything is suitable, as long as you follow deviantART policies, we encourage you to keep the picture in a non-too-mature rating, so more people can see and enjoy it. Of course, tasteful nudity is accepted also.
5. All entries must be new deviations, not uploaded before. The contest starts today (March 31st), and the deadline to submit your entries is next saturday (April 5th). April 6th at 11:00am (GMT time), I will note the judges with all the entries to get their judgement, and at the end of the day we will publish a news article with the winners So you have 6 days to do your homework!
6. Your submissions don't need to be uploaded to an specific category, but you need to send me a note with the subject "7 Anthro Days ENTRY" so I can know where your deviation is!
7. Stocks and other resources must be credited even if you used your own or if the stock provider didn’t specify he had to be credited.
8. Please write something about the contest and your art in the description (why did you choose that particular species for your anthropomorphic character, for example) It will surely help you to catch judges' attention.

If you help to promote this contest (making a stamp for it, telling your friends in a journal entry, or any other way you can imagine), you will enter a raffle, and if you win, you will have the chance to decide the contest winners with us, as if you were a Gallery Director for a day!! Isn't this luring enough? ;D
