The Inkscape team and community are proud to announce the release of Inkscape 0.46, "A Cross-platform Open Source Vector Graphics (SVG) Drawing Tool." Inkscape is a Vector editor along the lines of Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand, except the source code is open to anyone and it is free of charge. As usual, this release has addressed a number of high priorty issues that users had reported and is the most feature packed version to date.
We owe a huge thanks to the strong developers and user community that have contributed countless hours on Inkscape 0.46. As usual, if you decide to use Inkscape, please report any bugs or give any feature requests to help improve Inkscape for everyone!

The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master.
-I wouldn't have learned this today if it weren't for you taking the effort to make a good news post out of this for DA~
Inkscape is so wonderful... I've been using it since version .43 and I hope that this new release of .46 is even better!
*off to download and looking forward to trying it out*

One question though, does it support the use of graphics tablets?

I've been broken apart so many times, that the shards have turned to dust, and blown away.
Prints available, visit my store!
To get your tablet working initially, go into the File menu and you'll see Input Devices towards the bottom of the menu. You go in there to set that you have pen, eraser, and puck if applicable. Then in the calligraphy tool, on the tool controls bar (which toolbar that changes when you change tools), there are toggle buttons for pressure and tilt. This way you can easily switch those off/on as well if you so desire.
