Mmkay, so here's the deal.
Welcome to an
OnyxOrb-Projects Character Elimination Contest: By Random Chance. Here's how this'll work: Your character has been invited, been forced to, or has been paid to enter this contest; however you want to explain how and why your character got there and is there. Upon officially entering (by a telephone call, entry form, etc.), your character is handed a set of dice; one is black with white spots, the other is white with black spots. To start a round, they must roll those dice. The number on the white-spotted die determines their battle, while the black-spotted die determines their location. They roll it and are paired up with a contestant who rolled the same numbers. If the numbers have not been rolled by someone else, nothing will happen; this means they have to roll again.
In real life, I'll be pairing people up and assigning you random numbers. Then you'll each have to make do of the decision, and take it from there. The "rolling numbers nobody else has" is just a possible dramatic quirk. ;3 Here are the battle types and locations, listed below.
°~
Battle Types~°
o1.)
A Relay (A race or obstacle course of some sort; typically the contestants will not interact much with each other, unless it is desired.)
o2.)
A Game (These are fun; get creative. Could be a puzzle, virtual-reality action game, etc.)
o3.)
Normal Battle (Hack-And-Slash. Not too fun, unless there's a twist.)
o4.)
A Contest (Testing certain skills: trivia, singing, etc.)
o5.)
Survival. (Characters are placed somewhere or in a certain situation, and are expected to live through it.)
o6.)
Choose (This has to be sixes on both dice! You get to choose your situation. It does not have to be the same as your opponent's.)
°~
Locations:~°
o1.)
A garden/Forest/Grassland/other outdoor location (Be creative; make the environment just more than a background.)
o2.)
A mansion (Possibly many strange rooms?)
o3.)
Abandoned area (A city, warehouse, etc.; strange things my be lurking around...)
o4.)
A different time period (See some Dinosaurs? You probably rolled a four.)
o5.)
Dreamland (Just as it says. Anything can happen.)
o6.)
Choose (There has to be sixes on both dice! Your character gets to choose their numbers.)
I've kept the numbers pretty vague so you'll be able to have lots of creative input :>
°~
Rules~°
o1.)
No killing your opponent. It's simple to walk up to someone and slash their head off; let's try to be interesting, okay?
o2.)
Limit the gore, sexual content and language. I don't mind if it's necessary to the story, but censorship is definitely an option. I also don't want anything so explicit that it needs any kind of mature content filter.
o3.)
No fan characters. It's great that you love Naruto, but I don't want someone with a Konoha headband in this contest. Each character should be of their own story.
o4.)
All entries must be turned in before the deadline to be counted. If you don't turn in your entry, you'll forfeit. And nobody likes that. <:0
o5.)
Honor the judges' opinions. They're judges for a reason. If I sense a bias, I'll consult their decisions; but other than that, you need to be mature. O:
°~
Rules~°
o1.)
Quality. If your entry is just a sketch or is full of grammar mistakes, we're not likely to give a good review.
o2.)
Depiction of Characters. There's nothing more devastating than a mis-interpretation of your opponent's character. DX
o3.)
Be a good sport. Even if your opponent ripped your character's arms off in their entry, it doesn't mean you need to grind off the face of their character in yours. If you play nicely, you're more likely to win.
o4.)
Play Fair. Give your opponent a chance; make it difficult for someone who doesn't know you to find out which character in your entry is yours.
o5.)
Length. We're looking for stories that work well within their space. If something seems too long and drawn-out, it's less likely to win; same goes for something that seems too choppy or short. If you need to make your story long, by all means, do so. And if you like to keep it short and sweet, go ahead; just make sure it's the right fit XD
o6.)
Medium. Creating a whole comic successfully with watercolor is a lot more difficult than using copy-and-paste with Photoshop, isn't it?
o7.)
Creativity. This is the most important factor in your entry. Without being original, it's not going to stay interesting, I'm sorry to say. ;o;
o8.)
Responsibility. If we hear you fretting a week before the deadline because you haven't started your entry yet, we'll dock you points ;3 Even if you finish on time.
o9.)
Dedication. If you don't want to be in this contest, then...why did you join? ;-;
°~
Directions on Entering~°
o1.)
Send this account a note. COMMENTS ON THIS PAGE OR ANY USERPAGE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED! This can save you a spot; but if your reference and tryout are not submitted by the deadline, then you'll be booted. O:
o2.)
You must try out for this contest! It's easy to get in, but I'm trying to weed out the people who join it on a whim and don't mean anything of it. To do this, you must first
make a reference for your character; then an intro.
You must create a new reference! I know it's a hassle, but I think it'll be better. ^^
Your reference must include these informations, in VIVID detail (exception for BG):-
Vital Stats: Name, Age, Gender, Height, Weight, Species.
-
Weapon: Special attacks, description of weapon/physical attacks, any other information.
-
Personality: Intelligence level, type of humor, Interests/Dislikes, other information on their personality.
-
Background: Keep this BRIEF. Please, try to keep it under a couple paragraphs....

-
Quirks: What's different about them?
You must also create an introduction piece for your participation in the contest. Explain how/why your character is and got there; in the most creative way you can, of course. Tryouts that aren't submitted or are not as high quality as we'd like will not be participants in the contest. Sorry D:>
What we're looking for as far as quality is not how good at drawing you are, but that we understand what's going on and it's clear that you're making an effort. :3
o3.) Once the contest starts, here's the basic idea of what's going down:
-You must draw a comic or write a SHORT story showing your character rolling the dice and meeting whoever you've been paired up with. You must then present your character beating their opponent according to the numbers they rolled.
The deadline for try-outs is set for May 25th. If needed, we will extend it until June 10th.If you have anymore questions, please note this account:

Kirstien-you see Anna, Jeneil needs at least two sane people to balance out her crazy.
me-Awesome!I have a posse!...waitta minute how many people does Zack has as a posse?
Kirstien- 6 people. Now shut up and eat your lunch.
Still, I'm rather inundated with all types of schoolwork. Hell, I can't even practice my violin much!

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone.
btw, when do we have to turn in every bit of info?
