reports, July 1Sex and sexuality in art are some of my favorite things, and certainly sometimes arousal is part of this, but more importantly, it is FAR MORE than about simple arousal, as porn is. One of my deviantart friends, 
, said that art of a sexual nature can “ provoke thoughts about our dreams, fears, desires, and place in the world"...yes! Well done art that deals with sex exposes the soul of the subject or act in question, not just the naughty bits. I feel that any kind of work on this site that looks at sexuality in a thoughtful or artistic or critical or celebratory, etc. way is certainly appropriate content for an art site, because, of course, this work is actually ART.

reports, April 3, 2008This a segment from my journal that I've decided to make into new articles. These news articles are not to explain all the aspects of these wonderful art forms. These articles are to inform dA of other galleries that you may not go into often.
WHAT IS FETISH?
Dictionary.com says:
1. an object regarded with awe as being the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.
2. any object, idea, etc., eliciting unquestioning reverence, respect, or devotion: to make a fetish of high grades.
3. Psychology. any object or nongenital part of the body that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation.
WHAT ISN'T FETISH?
Fetish is not pornography, although it can involve erotic themes. Fetish photography on dA is not pornographic.

"However, sex and pornography do not go hand in hand, just as fetish photos and fetish portraits are not necessarily synonymous. This gallery is not the place for photos of feet and shoes just because there are foot and shoe fetishes, but rather is a great fit for portraits of people that especially feature or focus on the feet in the context of a person. Just an example, mind you, as feet are quite a common, widespread fetish."
