Hi all!

I am one of the editors of Verandah 23 a student run, literary journal at Australia's Deakin University.

We are looking for submissions from both artists and writers for this years annual edition. The journal is launched at the Melbourne Writer's Festival and copies are sent to organisations and libraries around the world. Every year our sponsors award prizes to the entries they deem of greatest merit.

We accept entries from ANYONE ANYWHERE - not just Australians and not just Deakin students.

Each submission will be read/viewed by our editing team - we are a group of artists and writers with very diverse tastes, so don’t think your piece is to “this-or-that” for us to appreciate.

While we love to publish almost anything, there are a couple things we just won't:

Previously published/prizewinning pieces
Gratuitous alliteration
Wanton offensiveness
Chapters or excerpts from larger works – we will know, trust me
Fanfiction/art
Slash fiction/art
Plagiarism – again, we will know
