Success

Writing a speech is difficult enough but writing one filled with as much gratitude as I feel right now is much more difficult. Tonight, though, I am taking a break from my usual happy and cheerful mood and letting my words come from my heart.

If anyone had told me that becoming the Anthro Gallery director could be so entertaining and so mind-boggling I would have laughed at them. If anyone had told me I would make so many new friends I would have been sceptical. My idea would have been that it was a voluntary task for those able to do serious business, because of responsibilities and stuff. Yet I was persuaded to join and, yes, Anthro did bring me those benefits and I am very glad I joined the AR Team staff.

It's hard to believe that almost a year has passed. Each one of us, as a community, has had our sorrows and our joys during the year. Each one of us has had our failures and our achievements in that same time. We are all, in some way, a little different than we were this time last year. For good. Because the community spirit, to see how many we are, and how much we can do, is amazing. If Anthro Art has become more and more important in deviantART, is because of we all, of you all.

Certainly if we celebrated Project Educate: Anthro Week, it was to promote Anthro Art, and educate other people and other artists in the site. We have had speed contests, chatroom events, Daily Deviations encouragement, educational news articles, long-lasting contests..... We, ^
skifi and ^
cooley would like to say that our community, watchers and friends has done absolute wonders in attending this week. Special thanks go to ^
misskittyoooo because she's the one organizing the whole Project and this would haven't been possible without her. Contest winners, artists submitting their entries, chatroom regulars, and newbies at this style of art, they have even ensured that we are all in educational spirits. Happy spirits. Party spirits. So thank you folks, you've made it a week to remember.

It's fascinating to think that Anthro is a style featured in arts all over the world and to very different standards. Yet isn't it nice to know that all kinds of people everywhere can get such fun out of an artistic style? Most artists will never do it for a living, neither enter competitions. All they will do is enjoy arts at home. Those who do upload it to online places or galleries like deviantART have the ability to use their talent and expose it. Share it. Promote it. Be proud of it.

So we had better make the most of this week end. If you feel like singing, feel free. If you want to dance on the table, don't let us stop you. If you feel like painting the town red, be our guest. Anthro Week has been our week in Project Educate, and this night it ends. So tonight let us raise our glasses in a toast to the anthro artists and art appreciators who keep the Anthro Gallery moving:

We all.

Thanks for a wonderful week, people

People who enjoy waving flags don't deserve to have one.
