Weekly Help Desk Updates - April 10th, 2008Introduction
Welcome to the weekly Help Desk Updates. In these weekly updates we will attempt to bring you the most up to date news concerning the Help Desk & FAQ, as well as provide some helpful hints for super duper deviantART fun.

Continuing on with the FAQ Spring Cleaning project, the second phase of the project is now completed and all entries needing minor updates have been tagged and will receive their updates as we move to phase three.
Phase three will involve combining entries that would be better suited to being one entry as opposed to 3-8 entries. I expect phase three to take at least 2 weeks to be completed.

What is the '
My Friends' box and how do you set it up? The 'My Friends' box is a nifty little subscriber only feature that displays the avatars of your friends in a box that is displayed on your userpage between your journal and your devious information. In order to set it up you need to go to your
Edit Profile page and click on the
User Page Display section. Once there you will see an option on the left hand side entitled 'Display My Friends', you will need to select the drop down for it stating yes.
Now that you have it enabled how do you customize it? You can have this feature display all the deviants you watch or you can sift through your devwatch and only select those deviants who are your friends. If you would like to do this you will need to go to your
Manage My Friends page. Once there you will see a list of all the deviants you are watching. In order to select, only the deviants you wish to display in your 'My Friends' box you need to make sure only the deviants you wish to be displayed are checked off under the category of 'Friends'. Please keep in mind that the avatars in the box will be displayed in the order you have devwatched your friends and cannot be rearranged.

Hey Jenn, I'm a little worried that deviantART can do whatever it wants with my work. Does dA own it now?Nope! By agreeing to the
Submission Agreement you are
not giving deviantART ownership of your work. In fact, the agreement explicitly states that you, the original artist, retain any and all rights to your artwork, including (but not limited to) the full and exclusive copyright. Simply put, you are granting deviantART the permission we need in order to display, showcase and make your work available to viewers using on-site systems and tools. For example, you're giving us permission to make mini-versions of your submissions in order to put thumbnails in your gallery.
You will never, ever lose ownership or exclusive copyrights granted to you by law on deviation or scrapbook submissions you make to deviantART. And, of course, dA will not use your artwork for any projects without speaking to you and obtaining your consent first. You can read the full Submission Agreement
here and if you still need someone to explain anything further please contact us at the
Help Desk.

Weekly Tip
Did you know that as a subscriber you can view the last 5 deviants to view your userpage? Well you can! For more information, please
