Discussing page views, activity and popularity, ~ChaoticSkye explores the inner workings of the community on deviantART from her point of view.

Although this does not apply to everyone, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority perceive things from a different point of view from reading this.

OCD-- A Disturbing dA Discovery

~RADICALrandy:iconRADICALrandy: reports, April 10, 2008
It has come to my attention that maybe Deviants are suffering from a very common emotional disorder. This disorder is effecting there lives in a way where it is effecting the cleanliness of their kitchens! Pots and pans lay there day after day collecting dust and mold! These people need help so i have posted this to bring awareness to the deviant community to help these people.
OCD - Obsessive Conclusive Devaint

These people are throwing their lives away sitting from front of their 27" LCD-HD monitors posting comment after comment. Posting a journal every 4 seconds and bitting peoples heads off if they don't comment within 30 seconds. These are serious times my friends, as Doctor Trixibell declares the following:

"These people will comment and comment until their finger tips are bone. But than how will the cope with the tragedy of not being about to comment or do anything on dA? They can't cope, they will go nuts, a blood thirsty ram page, killing and puching everything in site. Even though it's common for them to have some tea and possibly socialize but after tea time they are back on their killer ram page. It seems my friends that dA might be turning into a addiction.
My research shows that dA is being as addictive as MySpace, but the good news is there is no hope for them but for us. Lets start out with looking at the signs of OCD; at first you will notice, your friend always talking about dA inside and outside of other social events and even possibly carrying an labtop with dA as thier home page. At that point there is some concern that they could already have OCD or they could be developing it (OCD doesn't come over night but some things can trigger an increase risk to the disorder like there first Subscription). If they get there first subscription look out for noobish questions of thinking they are all that, just because they have a sub.
Now if they have had a Sub before and their sub retires be wary of there actions and emotion state over the issue. They might become depressed and feel parted from there dA friends, including their daily deviant events. If so it is a bad idea to get them a new subscription because the transfer from server depression to overjoy as cause extra development towards dA. This will ultimately lead to OCD and more troubled road ahead.
Some other signs are Styrofoam cup used as waste disposal (and I'm not talking about garbage). IV bags hocked to their arms or anywhere else that fits their comfort. Checking there pageview chart every minute to see if they are beating yesterdays high. Stocking their recent visitors are another sign of OCD, but this one can be serious. They can get violent only because the victim visited but didn't comment or fav anything! This my cause serious and dangerous actions like spamming, hate mail and possibly threats of dislike.
OCD can have a strong influence of relationship break ups and troubles for both parties. The Deviant with OCD will not understand that their selfish behaviors are harming their loved ones and friends. They believe that they are doing nothing wrong and their current actions are a normal way of life, which in the long run cause great confusion over why the other parties are so upset. One thing is for sure, just like the people we have all seen on myspace obsession, its only down hill from here. So with that all said it is important not to take away their computer or internet access or even threaten the point.
There is some cures but they don't all work on everyone. One of them happens to be Wish Fulfillment used in the early times of psycho therapy. Wish Fulfillment gives him what they want in hope to get them bored of it entirely. They will receive of outside contact other than dA so therefore all other website etc, will be block and monitored. They will realized that they are trapped with there own desire. Sooner or later this will drive them away from dA and give them the desperate desire to communicate with the outside world. once we see these signes we will introduce them back into a controlled environment without dA. Hopefully they will be more eager to join back up with there normal social lives, rather than just dA. If after introduced to the controlled environment thy still show signs of OCD they will be treated again or I will introduce them with a different treatment.
The second treatment is where we give them a drug called Devianorious. Devianorious is a drug that targets the dA part of the brain and tried to restore balance. This is a new treatment since we just discovered the dA section of the brain which will lead to new treatments and studies. Devianorious is the inflammation of the dA section which causes OCD. This drug is used to reduce the swelling and help their OCD problems. Now Please note that Devianorious is not a cure alone, there is still psycho treatments that will insure the cure.
Also OCD an come back but it is very unlikely after someone has received the cure.
I hope this introduces you too this new threat to the dA community."
