Community Choice started out as a simple series of articles by ^
misskittyoooo where deviants could choose one deviants gallery and pick three deviations from it to feature. In February I, ^
Helewidis gave a twist to that idea and asked the Senior community to choose one deviation from a gallery (in this case Artistic Nudes) and add a write-up explaining why they loved the piece so much and why we should see the it.
The project soon extend to non-seniors and took the form of Community Choices News Articles, embraced by several Gallery Directors and by everyone in deviantART. Alternating biweekly articles divided into Seniors community choice and non-Seniors community choice because everyone has got a thing to say when it comes to ART and EXPOSURE!
The goal of this project is simple: To provide a fun and simple way of featuring good work from deviantARTs galleries in a collaborative spirit between Gallery Directors and the community! As the project has grown you can choose to take part on this with more galleries and Gallery Directors and not only Artistic Nudes.
The purpose is to expose deviants artworks without the just post thumbs attitude - we feel this way the Featured works get the attention and respect they deserve!
And thats why the AR (Artist Relations) Team exists: to bring Unity into the Community while sharing ART! This is your chance to have Gallery Directors support the sharing of your chosen artwork and thoughts about it.
~ The Senior's Choice ~

"The pose is simple and the framing quite standard, but what makes this special is the attention to detail. Candy coloured buttons and a white afro, washed out colours and that quaint floral background make it dreamy and slightly surreal. The model remains a favourite of mine purely for her eyes, and i adore how her eyes are dark, ringed with black, and that's where your eyes is pulled... then you wonder what she's looking at."

"Everything in this photograph is about strength, from the gunmetal quality of her skin to the taut, coiled tension of her body. I like how she's almost the same colour as the backdrop, as if she's camoflaged, waiting to pounce. A predator."

"Possibly one of my all time favourite images on DA. It is simply so much fun - every time I look at it I find myself grinning. The wacky, camp pose, the strategically placed top hat and that broad smile... just wonderful. But yet it could so easily have been lit wrongly and the whole image would have been ruined - here we have a comedy moment lit as if it was a glamour shot. And it works."

"As you might have noticed by now, I like my nudes strong, I like a bit of glamour and if there's a mythical link then alls the better. I've always wanted to go to Burning Man, it's the notion of spiritual and creative freedom that draws me, and this has only cemented that. If deserts had dryads, this is what they looked like - strong, proud, carrying life with her through the desolate drylands. The off centre focus, giving you that glimpse of the macabre sculpture behind her, just adds to the surreal fantasy of the piece."

"What strikes me about this is for an image with so much movement, it's pin sharp - like a screenshot from The Matrix. But it isn't manipulated - shots like these are the result from repeating a motion over and over again until you get the shot you want - and that in itself is admirable. The fact her body is so taut, hovering above the angular lines of the table and chair, with the decorative touch of her tattoo sensually curving around her waist makes the shot beautiful as well as technically awesome."

PixiesForGenna is at first glance a feast for the eyes. The free flowing nature of the subject and her garments add a dreamy touch to the human form. With only an astounding 168 pageviews, this Artistic Nude photographer definitely needs MORE exposure. (no pun intended of course!)

Ballet Shoes by *
mickwag is a stunning composition of light and dark. It is full of unique texture from the silk of the shoes and ribbon to the rough wood beneath her. It is delicate and dangerous at the same time. The pose is interesting, showing the beauty of the model in a way that is not at all provocative. This gallery is FULL of stunning photographs and it was hard for me to pick just one. With only 11,000 pageviews, this is another Artistic Nude Photographer that deserves more views for the pure enjoyment of his work.

Body Guard by ~
photoheaven left me speachless. The expressions on the models faces certainly depict its title. His gaze is menacing and protective while hers is serene and peaceful. I love the pose and the way the models seem to be tangled up together. Its a touching image and one I would be proud to display on my wall here at home. With 2000 pageviews, we all need to take a look at the stunning talent of this photographer.

Pushing the Window by *
holdmycoatI love the perspective on this image as well as the lighting. Because of the dreamy, gentle tones for the body and the background, when in contrast with the shimmering ripple of the window curtain - my first thought when I saw this image was that it was a man swimming toward the rippled, sun-lit surface of water...a pool, maybe. Or a lake.
Even though I know it's an unusual perspective shot of a man with his hands toward a window, I can't shake this impression. Nor do I want to.

Prophet's Dream by =
mehmeturgutThe lyricism of this image cannot be overstated. The falling body, the contemplative face, the graceful flow of uncut hair -- it all blends together to embody (for me) some of the ecstatic poetry of the Sufi mystic, Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi.
When your chest is free of your limiting ego,
Then you will see the ageless Beloved.
You can not see yourself without a mirror;
Look at the Beloved, He is the brightest mirror.
Mouth Shut by *
yourkrazynurseThe way his body vanishes into shadow makes it almost seem like he's swimming up from the darkness, desperate for light or air. The pose, and the brilliant use of light and shadow, makes me seriously want to ask the man what it is that torments him so. Is it a good torment, like realizing with whom he's fallen in love? Or is it, more likely, some terrible revelation that makes him clamp his mouth shut to hold back a scream of pain or despair?
Exquisite.

I simply like the idea of the cube. Probably it's cause it reminds me of a Madonna video

I really love this one. It's the perfect capture to represent the lost of innocent. For some reason the model reminds me of a modern Little Red Riding Hood

Amazing curves... it's so sinuous that caught my eyes at once.
That's it I think

Making fun of the powerful is Bravery, because they can make you pay for what you say. This is why Satire is the weapon of the Clever Courageous. Making fun of someone weaker than you are, that is merely Cowardice.
