*DailyLitDeviations:iconDailyLitDeviations: reports, 1d 4h ago
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you :+fav: the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Are you serious? There are thousands of writers out there just as good as you and in exactly the same position, and a great many of them are self-publishing and being well received on this site. It sounds to me like you need to do some research. Find out which publications are accepting your type of work, and if you want to get it out there, get it out there. Whether or not you are accepted depends not just on the quality of your work, but also on the whims and preferences of the readers on that particular day, and on the hundreds or thousands of other submissions. All you can do is perservere, but I can guarantee you that no one is going to publish you based on a short pleading news article. When you're doing your research, you will learn that getting published is notoriously hard. Join the queue!

writers who can't take blunt criticism have no business seeking publication.
and it's a difficult thing to learn...

There is a difference between constructive criticism and beating up a young writer. I believe you were attempting the latter. Please don't debate me on this as I have had much experience in the Art of Critique. I am a double English/French major at St. Vincent College. I believe I can argue fluently in multiple languages...One must take into consideration the age of the poet/writer/author...

i am NOT beating up on anybody! all i was saying was that you yourself were being a little too harsh on the post above your first one (which i may remind you i did not write): it's a little like faux news beating up on an obama truism...

i am all in support of incubating young writers--learning to take criticism lightly is not an easy skill to learn (as i did mention). but you must remember too: if he or she's seeking publication...well...publishers don't care how old (s)he is: good ones will reject; vanity ones will charge a fee. that's just how the world works.

also--a form of "vouloir" should be followed by an infinitive...and i'm pretty sure that's an improper use of the partitive article. "tu veux savoir le monde" is how i would put the second clause of your signature. as it is right now it's pretty hard to read.

Just to point out to the two rather harsh people above -- I am the editor of a literary magazine, and I didn't instantly think "ha! what an idiot" as you obviously did.
I was a fourteen year old writer, clueless about the process, once. I'm sure you lot all were, too. Try remembering that time in your life before lashing out at a vulnerable person.

Which type of French do you speak of first? Qubecois French or France French...There are major differences in the dialects, as they have many different words that mean the same thing.

i speak school (read: ridiculously formal) French, and of course there are major differences in the dialects, it's about the difference between British English and American English, but I'm pretty sure the differences don't extend to modal grammar.

Pourquoi? Est-il le québécois votre langue de naissance?...Le français est la belle langue et je veux le maîtriser. (Malheureusement, ça semble d'impliquer un voyage à un pays où ils le parlent...)
