Welcome to Resourcefully Yours "Show and Tell. A bi-weekly Article concentrating on the exposure of the Resource gallery for the true Treasure Trove that it is.
"Show and Tell" will give you an insight to the large and diverse selection of the fabulous Resources that have been made available to us by our dedicated Resource providers here on devaintART.To do this I have set up a small teams of "Resource Hunters" to go out into gallery to hunt and play with resources and applications they would not normally use by encouraging them to step out of their "safe/comfort zone and try something new. Below you will see what my nifty team has come up with and what they had to say about their newly discovered Treasures.
Presenting my second team of Resource Hunters .
Dragons Eye by
First I wanted to make a manipulation, but I have done that already several times, that is why I decided to try something "new". There is not much that I haven't tried yet, but still I wanted to make something I wasn't too familiar with.
So I wanted to use any tutorial as a base. I browsed through the resource gallery and ended with Globe Photoshop Video Tut by^DigitalPhenom
Going further the idea evolved itself and became some kind of dragon artwork after finding Dragons volume II by ~AmarieVeanne-Stock instead of a button set.
Still it looked like there was something missing, so I searched for some matching brushes and found Brush set: Stars Shine Out by ~Azureluck and Elven Magic by ~rL-Brushes added the highlights and finally created a wallpaper.

I have always wanted to make a stamp, but never had the time or the need to be bothered to learn. I had no topic in mind (this time I do lol).
I have seen many stamps made using $zilla774's stamp template and it seems so easy to use. Well, I was right! The layout of the stamp makes it easy to use and everything is nicely laid out into convenient layers for your use. Also, the stamp template itself is very clean and professional looking.
Well, I also didn't want this stamp to be ultra boring, I wanted it to be flashy and moving and stuff, so I went and found a tutorial Fading text in image ready by *limon-butterfly . This tutorial was great for it! It laid out the steps in a very easy to follow manner and even taught me a new button in image ready, the Tween ^_^
Well, I hope you all enjoyed this and feel free to use if you are a shout box stalker

Paint 001 by
I work in a verity of digital media, but one type I do not work in is serious digital painting. I have the hardware, software, and knowledge that I need so I should be able to but for some reason I never have really tried to learn. I can't draw freehand line art to save my life which might be a factor holding me back, but I thought it was time I learned so with the help of tutorials from around DA we will see how much I can learn.
Photo reference by ~temabinastock I picked a photo big on style, but weak in details, so I would have to improvise when painting in the details. Also decided to start with a face since this is likely the hardest place to begin. Since I have no hope of making something remotely easy on the eyes without close photo reference that's the way it's got to be, but it's not a crutch I'd like to use long term if I can get away from it.
General process tutorial by ~Vloth Was helpful in establishing a plan of attack, it would be nice to see more detailed tutorials focusing on the different steps but it was still helpful.
Hair painting method tutorial by `jezebel. Is well known but lays out a nice strategy and more importantly makes the point that there are no short cuts. Spent a lot of time on that hair myself, too much, and it could likely be better but also I'm sure it would have been much worse had I tried to cut corners.
Lip painting method tutorial by ~darklaela was very helpful, thanks to this painting the lips was the work of only a few minutes and came out looking acceptable, likely the easiest part of the whole face.
Nose painting method tutorial by *Gweyeni. Is also well known but goes to more depth then most tutorials I could find on the subject, and I found the nose to be the hardest thing to paint so this depth was really what I needed to make it look half way decent.
I did not have tuts for the eyes or scarf. If I keep doing these resource hunting things in time maybe I can complete the composition with the cloths and so on. All in all, it's a little 'off' looking, and based right off a photo more or less; but it's not bad for a first try and shows you can come a long way from no skill when other artists are sharing their skill and knowledge.
Filth in the beauty... by =Derzorvadur
I wanted to try something different, I have never made a customized wallpaper before,so I thought maybe that would be a way to get out of my safe zone, as I didnt have to use so many details as I am used to.So playing with textures and brushes isnt realy my strongest point,as at the end of the day it becomes messy but I like this pretty much.
Okay first was coming up with the idea, it was not really difficult, for I saw it as being very simple,so spent a complete weekend hunting for resources.I love doing that, anyway, once I had found all the resources I needed used came with the concept, I think I spent a whole weekend working on this because as it was a simple thing to do and gave me some troubles to match everything together,I was using and discarding resources until I just hit the right ones.
I first cropped the Female Stock 5 by *Katanaz-Stock , it was not really difficult once it was done, I started playing with several of the textures in the Large-Textures-27 By ~crazykira-resources pretty amazing textures by the way.
okay once I selected two of the textures for the background I used the most common thing to use in Photoshop when you want things to look amazing.
without the minimum effortokay! I started applying layer effects.
Then the wallpaper looked pretty boring actually,So I decided to use the Haunted textures vol. 5 by =resurgere which are several textures of torn paper which make it look like a torn wallpaper and the idea of the model Coming out from the hole seemed to me mind blowing.
And of course the final touches were these fantastic Abstract Brushes Vol 3 by ~rubina119
I would like to thank my team of Resource Hunters for playing along with the Show and Tell for this time, and of course not forgetting the Resource providers that never cease to amaze us with their generosity for providing us with the best Resources anyone could wish for.
