Artistic Nudes - A study by Fahd A. Paracha

=fahap:iconfahap: reports, 2d 8h ago
Depictions of nudity refers to nudity in all the artistic disciplines including vernacular and historical depictions. Nudity in art has generally conformed — with some variation — to social standards for public nudity; in cultures where nudity was accepted, nude figures in painting and sculpture were as well.

The actual way of organizing content is somewhat not perfect, cause it links two things that should be independant : genre and tech of an image.

deviantART's Mature Content Hypocrisy

Why does the deviantART staff refuse to enforce their own rules sometimes? When it comes to prohibited content such as pornography and underage nudity, why do they let some obscene material stay up, while innocent deviations get deleted?

deviantART CEA; FAQ #565 and Policy Interpretation

=exsecror:iconexsecror: reports, 21h 47s ago
The purpose or rather intent of this news article is to address the increasing concerns by many deviantART members (including myself) as to the recent results from the new Policy Violation Reporting System and the deviantART Copyright Etiquette and Administration (CEA) team. I should stress that this is not meant as an attack or attempt to defame what the CEA team does. They do a fantastic job at making sure that deviantART is clean but rather it addresses a serious concern about interpretations of two FAQs, namely #565 and their compliance with United States Code Statutes.

To All You Artists, especially the 'Big' ones

*FrostyPuppy:iconFrostyPuppy: reports, April 14
Alright, I want to start off by saying that this news topic, which is my first, is mostly made on a personal point.

You see, its new to me to be honest but I have had one or two starting artists ask me a couple of things on techniques or tips on art and what not.

Now you see, these questions,or mentiongs of 'I wish I knew how that artists did that' or 'How does he/she do this?', it all brought back a few momeories.

These memories being of when I myself was a new artist (and I guess relatively speaking I still am in a way) and when I had sent a few notes here and there to a few artists of different levels, asking for help in anyway they can in terms of art. Now while I got many good replies that did indeed help me improve, not everyone did, or sent something back I'd rather not mention.

Now this isnt a journal because I mainly want to get this message out to all artists who have faced, are facing, or will face such questions on tips, techniques, etc...and especially those 'big' artists with many pageviews, watchers, and so on.

All Im asking is for a little consideration, these new artists, like myself and many that started, were once like you. We were all new comers, some starting out with more talent than others, thats very true, but new artists none the less, who were seeking for improvement then and are no doubt seeking for improvement now.

So what Im saying is, just because these artists dont seem to be as good as you, remember when you were a new artist, and that everyone has a different art style to the next. Give them the help they need, dont shun them, dont ignore them, and dont make them feel down or stupid, it does not help and can cause alot of low self esteem in many up and coming artists and in turn really lower the number of potential top notch artists.

I didnt write this journal for me, I wrote it for all those who need and seek for improvement in their art, be it visual, musical or whatever. After all, aren't we all looking for improvement? For who could possibly be at their peak when there is no peak to anyone? So please, once again, just take a moment to consider before you delete that ';Please lend a hand' or 'help me out?' message in your DA box.

Thanks for listening :)

OMG! A news article I didn't fall asleep reading! XD And you've got a good point there... I usually just don't get replies to any questions I've asked the 'big' artists. -.=.-;; I guess that's better than a derisive one though. I really like talking to people who don't care about page views or how many people comment there stuff, knowing that they won't just simply ignore my comment. ^.=.^ Thanks to you, as well, for commenting back, at least a simple thanks, it's always awesome to see a good artist that still cares. x3

LIke I said, its mostly to those big artists who (in my personal experience) may delete any message for help they get, but in reality its centered to all artists who can give a hand out to all others :D
