What does the term manga mean?A Japanese comic book or graphic novel. If you look it in a wordbook. Manga is often considered an artistic and storytelling style that can also encompass non-Japanese works.
What type of different "styles" of manga exist?It can be so many types of manga, not all reflects the same subject or story-telling, some are mild and made for children, some are made for adults and some even made for people that likes homosexual romances.

How do you start drawing manga?Anybody can draw manga, but only a few can masters manga as an artform. (
Manga is also often called anime, which is sort of incorrect , because anime means animation, and a non-moving picture can´t be an animation.)

What types of tools can I use to draw mangaWell many prefer digital style, because it is kinda easy, and makes it faster to add online on the internet. These are the digital tools that are used by most drawers.
* Adobe Photoshop
* Paintshop pro
* Open Canvas
* Painter
* Ms Paint
and much much more.
But some are still into the basic traditional way to draw, by hand with a pen and paper. They can then use these tools.
* Copic markers / Pro markers / Prisma Markers.
* Watercolors
* Crayons
* Normal color pencils
* Just drawn with an normal pen.
They then scan it, and crop in some other software to add online later.
Everybody draws manga and it looks the same, right?No no, manga might in the root look the same, but many has devolved diffrent styles to draw it. Just a few examples can be found below.





Stealing poses, is that wrong?You can in my opinion never steal a pose, because the pose itself is not copyrighted, just seem wrong to take full credit for something you did not make. Well not the pose anyhow. Borrow a pose and then link to where you got it from is fine. (

And when you get better at drawing you can do not need references.
Manga art and mangaManga art is more one picture, manga as most know it as, is a pocket or book with many pictures in them. That tells a story. Some country´s has few translated mangas and some has none! But it exist online manga places where you can read these mangas free. If it is legal or not, is an endless debate.
Ok now I know the basics , where should I startDoodle, and doodle and draw , and read manga and look at pictures, get inspired and just start, it exist no right and wrong way to draw manga. And to silent some critic voices, many manga pictures can take weeks to finish it all depends on the details , and what tool or art they are using. Also to draw fanart is not wrong, it´s a good way to start. But try to also draw something els.
Go and draw and remember , manga is also art, a new / old style of art. Just some that are to stuck in the old way of art. I like the normal art also, so if I am open. Why can´t you?
