It's time for another contest, folks! Following with my usual Alice in Wonderland obsession I'm launching a massive, year-long contest that will hopefully stir the interests of many talented deviants. This is a massive community project geared towards artists of every talent level, genre and style. Now, this contest is going to be a little different than most of my contests, so, without further ado, let me introduce...
TARTS AND HEARTS- A Wonderland Contest
THEME:
Wonderland! Wonderland! Wonderland! If its Wonderland related; I want to see it! There are so many colorful characters related to Lewis Carrolls original story, that the possibilities are really endless. I want to see your take on Wonderland and its many characters; this means classic characters, new characters, scenery, storyboards etc. etc. As long as you portray your ORIGINAL take on some aspect of Wonderland, you're good to go! If it's Wonderland themed, it's meant for this contest!
RULES:
1. Person(s) may enter two separate entries for the contest, provided that they are not submitted under the same category and are not remakes of an original entry.
2. Fanart entries of Disney's Alice in Wonderland are NOT permitted; this contest is geared towards art/fanart of the BOOK only!!
3. All interpretations of Wonderland characters, scenes or even original characters (example; an anthropomorphized flower from the talking garden) are permitted.
4. Collaborations are not permitted as there is no way to split the prize.
GUIDELINES:
1. ALL genres of art welcome!
PLEASE NOTE: Fiction entrants, you will be required to conform your piece to a verbally descriptive piece, describing an original Wonderland scene, character or scenario that you believe fits in with the theme.
PLEASE NOTE: Photographers will be required to provide a brief explanation of their piece if the relation to the theme is not clearly evident.
2. Try and include at least one character in the piece; or please make your scenario very detailed!
3. Color pictures are preferred; however detailed grayscale and lineart is also accepted.
4. Be creative! If you want to draw a gothic Lolita Alice with an anthropomorphized white rabbit in a garden of dead flowers- go for it! Half of the fun is creating scenes that may not have happened in the original novel, but you can imagine all the same. Have fun with it!
(By the way, if anyone actually draws that... They're awesome...)
JUDGING:
All entry will be organized by category; before judging takes place. Multiple entries will be compared by category, the top entry from each category with be chosen (example, if multiple submissions from the Digital Art, People category are submitted, the best will be chosen to represent the category). Once there is one entry from each submitted category, entries will be judged against one another for the top three and five runners up. Winners will be contacted for shipping information for there prizes exactly two weeks from their winning and all entries will continue to be displayed in a journal entry for that time.
PRIZES:

sounds very interesting i have a question thou, in rule #1, you said "Person(s) may enter two separate entries for the contest, provided that they are not submitted under the same category..." and by that means, if I submit 1 piece under digital art category, then my next piece has to be under traditional category?
and..when is the due date?

You can submit another digital art piece as long as it's a different digital art catagory; for example- if you drew a digital painting of the white rabbit, I don't want to see another digital painting of another rabbit. Try and keep the contect of your images diversified- maybe a digital portrait of Alice for one entry, the rabbit for another. I hope that explains it The due date APR 18 2009- so there's lots and LOTS of time!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
