and Cimiteri ... or taphophiles!
Taphophiles:
Taphophilia is the non-morbid love of funerals, graves, and cemeteries. A taphophile is a practitioner of taphophilia.
Taphophilia involves epitaphs, grave stone rubbings, photography, art, and history of (famous) deaths. An example of an individuals expression of taphophilia is the character Harold in the movie Harold and Maude. Taphophilia should not be confused with necrophilia, which is a sexual love of dead people.
Taphophilia is often, but not always, a component of the Goth subculture.

So there you go - there's a name for folks like me - taphophiles.
People often accuse me of being morbid, spending my hours in cemeteries and graveyards, capturing their beauty - these people don't fully understand what I do or why I do it. I don't do it because I think death is 'cool' or anything like that. I actually find that cemeteries offer me a sense of calm - they're open-air art galleries as well as offering an essential resource for social history.
I've been photographing cemeteries on and off for over 10 years, and my slowly expanding project, London Necropolis
[link] is an example of my photographs around London Cemeteries.
It's always good to know that I'm not the only one who skulks around cemeteries and I've collected some of my favourite cemetery shots together from dA. However, I've avoided including any shot of someone draped over a stone or wandering naked through a cemetery - I just don't find it respectful! Maybe just my opinion but we're all entitled to those.
Oh I've also included some artwork based on cemeteries/ graveyards!
Oh (again) ... in English it's spelt cemetEries and cemetEry NOT with an 'a' (that's the English teacher in me coming out! ha ha)
