With the multitude of new galleries and experiences here at deviantART, photographers are now asking for a new gallery to highlight the work of alternative and traditional photographic practices!

As of now, deviantART has one subcategory for traditional processes, which is hidden behind the darkroom category.

Photography --> Darkroom --> Traditional

And if anyone has ever ventured into the traditional gallery, it can be quite a feat to navigate.

With an Alternative and Traditional Processes Gallery, photographers can find a better place to put work and not a place where work is destined to be lost in the shuffle.

Here are some examples of subcategories for the gallery:

--> Instant Films
--> Black and White (Silver gel/lith)
--> Color processes
--> Lifts and Transfers
--> Misc Processes (pt/pd, cyanotype, etc.)


Many believe this is a very important step to help foster artists who want to learn about the traditions of photography and it's more elaborate practices.
