Video Art... video art does not necessarily rely on many of the conventions that define theatrical cinema. Video art may not employ the use of actors, may contain no dialogue, may have no discernible narrative or plot, or adhere to any of the other conventions that generally define motion pictures as entertainment. This distinction is important, because it delineates video art not only from cinema but also from the subcategories where those definitions may become muddy (as in the case of avant garde cinema or short films). Perhaps the simplest, most straightforward defining distinction in this respect would then be to say that (perhaps) cinema's ultimate goal is to entertain, whereas video art's intentions are more varied, be they to simply explore the boundaries of the medium itself or to rigorously attack the viewer's expectations of video as shaped by conventional cinema ....
Now meet deviantART's video Artists! Today,
=CaNbO - How would you define video art?- Photography is good but 25 frame of photography per second with audio is amazing.
- Why were you first interested in this type of media?- I like graphics, photography, compositing and audio. I noticed that video art includes these in one category.
- Have you ever participated of an installation?- In TV Spots.
- What other media you explore, besides film?- I like to design and develop flash based web sites. Also Photography is the backbone of my video's.
- Who are your favorite artists?- Alva Noto, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Eli Wallach.

- Any projects for the future?- This year, i want to buy a RED Camera, after that i am free to make movies & advertaisments. For now, I am writing just scenarios and storyboards .
- What is your opinion on deviantART Film, thus far?- Everthing is positive with DeviantArt Films. I see that it is an alive department, getting stronger and bigger. I am really happy to be a member of deviantARt Film and share films with other artists. Our admins are really great.
