A goddess of nighttime whose skin looks as if it is made from darkness. A god of killing with the head of a squirrel who carries a human skull with him. A god of light with burning eyes of amber. Who are these people? Come on in and see!
Everyone has their favorite movies, may it be the acting, music, or art that captures our attention. My challenge to you is: Create something inspired by your favorite movie! Let your creativity flow!
We have a little over 2 weeks left until this part of the contest is over! We still only have one entry and we need at least 3 to continues, so come on guys! Let's get plotting! Lets CREATE PERSONA 5!!<3
The only one I must compete with is...myself. And I'll always be the winner.
This contest wants on one hand to show that every single artist can improve (also motivate viewers to also keep practicing and never quit their art!) and that to improve is much more important to compare one's art with what it was in a previous moment, than compare it with other's art.
A contest about finding the shapes your body can create, awkward and abstract poses welcome! Make a fierce pose, create a new one, whatever you choose, abstract is beautiful.
What are two traditional pastimes that make for some of the best summer memories? How about backyard grilling or making some other summertime recipe and going to the county fair? If you love to grill on the patio or the veranda or if you can make a pie, an icy beverage, or a frozen dessert that could take a blue ribbon, now you can combine the two and enter a Culinary Arts contest at the same time!
The Artisan Crafts gallery announces that during the month of July you can celebrate National Culinary Arts Month by taking a photo of a grilled main dish, a pie, an icy summer-time beverage, or a frozen dessert and you could possibly win both a ribbon and a prize! You also have the option of submitting a Culinary film tutorial.
Themes and rules change monthly, with one person voted as the months winner. Each months winners go on to become finalists and compete in an end of the year tournament.
It had come to my attention that alot of the Art on dA is all abit.. well the same. So I posted a topic on the thumbshare forum called "Dare to be different" and I was suprised by the popularity!! I kind of promised to pick 30 deviantations to go in a news topic so here it is!
To be honest I was expecting pictures that showed difference in the work it's self eg. contrast, but I got that and more some of the art submitted included things that I could never imagine! Like a banana with a usb cable attatched to it! (will be featured later on) I also found many peices that were so abstract and unusual that they had to be included!! Please look at the featured work in full veiw to really appreciate their work, I have only shown one item from their galleries so take alook, they really do deserve so much credit for their awesome work -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, next time you go to post a deviantation, think about it! Is this origional? Have I ever seen it before? Will it catch peoples eye? Have I seen it over and over again? Us deviants become inspired by other peoples work, so if you ever include aspects of other deviants work in your art change it, modify it, make it origional! JUST DONT COPY IT!! Not just because that would lack imagination, it could also violate their copywrite!
Here is a thumb from my gallery that inspired me to write this
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
