Media has played a big role in our present society, whatever country, state, or town a person lives in there is bound to be the presence of Media. Media can be a communication tool which delivers messages, it is a tool that can make two or more people interact with each other. Media is also a tool which keeps us entertained.

We use the television whenever there is a show we want to watch our favorite shows, or we use the iPod to listen to the music we want to hear. Media has given different reasons for each person to keep on attaching ourselves to it. Humanity get their dreams from media, they get hopes from media. Media gives joy to many lives of people. But is media all positive?

As it was studied, media shapes reality. It is a fact, there are commercials that would convince people to buy the product they are endorsing, the commercial company would say anything which would make the bigger mass of people to buy the product. The commercial company would even make celebrities endorse their product so that more people would want to buy it. But not everything they say can be true, they say anything to get their product sold, and as common people we believe. A common man wouldn't know if what he buys can actually be something bad for him. There are positive and negative things in something, but as for media, they do not want to show the negative side, to show that everything is all right, but in reality it is not. Media can just fool anyone, without not knowing.

Media creates movies, songs, etc., to entertain many people, but in the current events in the society there are those who take advantage of this to influence many people, both in the good way and in the bad way.

As it is a base as a communication tool, media is very powerful, and the people who create media is actually less powerful than media. There are movies who have great inspirational meanings, movies that can touch lives, and movies that give hope for many people. But there are movies which claim to entertain but when it is observed it does not give anyone knowledge or any relevance in life. In other words it makes a person stupid, because their minds are not challenged. These kinds of movies don't teach the society the importance of thinking, it doesn't have messages that can be lived out. It only creates a preposterous person in each individual.

This doesn't only go with movies, but in music as well, music is created to express a persons emotions, but lately, music is a tool to send messages of sexuality, rebellion, etc. Songs usually has music videos which shows a reality of the song, but lately these music only shows each individuals crave for lust, greed, envy, etc. There are music which don't even have meaning in it. These music does not make a person think things through, it doesn't developed knowledge or understanding, it doesn't give any importance in any human beings life.

Media is a powerful tool that can shape reality, but it is the people who create media. Therefore, the society shapes media as well. It is because of humanity media is created. Humans just needs to be more aware of what media can do to us. What media can make us do. Media isn't bad, it entertains us, it also depends on the receiver of media on how he/she processes the given information.
