I though it was time for me to do another news piece to help get some exposure for another area on DA that needs it. Traditional abstract art here I come!
My aim in producing these news articles is to increase everyone's awareness of a not so well exposed area on DA and hopefully give some unexposed artists a little push.

I chose traditional abstract art this time because I am in awe of beautiful abstract art. I am in awe of artists who can pull off abstract art well. I absolutely love the raw expression of emotion that can be achieved. I LOVE the natural, intuitive organic style that can be achieved with the freedom of abstract art. All in all, I have a special little place in my heart for abstract art.
Here's what trusty wiki (haha) has to say on the matter...abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses colour and form in a non-representational way. In the very early 20th century, the term was more often used to describe art, such as Cubist and Futurist art, that depicts real forms in a simplified or rather reduced waykeeping only an allusion of the original natural subject. Such paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects' immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.
Anywho, enough chitter chatter, here are 101 pieces of abstract art handpicked by yours truly! I know there are a lot but I just couldn't stop myself...please take the time to look at the ones that appeal to you in fullview and leave a thoughtful comment! A little bit of love goes a long way.

I hope this has enlightened you and helped give you a little inspiration to let your own emotions loose on canvas.
Have a wonderful day!!

ps. Don't you think it's amazing that when an artist just decides to paint something, not anything in particular...they just chuck some colour down and let their heart do the painting...and then the result is like an insight into their subconscious. The freedom amazes me.
pps. Seriously, take the time to leave a comment +/- favourite for these amazing artists. Lots of these pieces have absolutely no comments...they need some loving!

Your comment on intuition for me at least is one of the myths of abstract art it takes me years to really finish a piece sometimes. I wish it were more natural, but it is generally very hard work.
If you are painting a sunflower when it looks like a sunflower you are done but with abstract works how do you know? Until it is balanced communicates something all of which is often frustrating to achieve.
Thanks for the feature and your food for thought

The queen of air and darkness
begins to shrill and cry
"Oh young girl, oh my slayer,
tomorrow, you shall die!"
Oh queen of air and darkness
I think 'tis truth you say
and I will die tomorrow
but you will die today.
