Many people have been waiting for the results of my contest. Those results have finally come in! Under no circumstances were these decisions easy, but rather each had its own unique quality, often making us, the judges, second-guess our choices.
However, the rules, of which I will show all of you, were fool proof and won the decisions.
Here were the rules I deemed it necessary to follow, so a winner could be picked:

The grammar must be correct. But, you must remember that when writing a poem, this rule can change. for this rule to be acceptable, the author must state his/her reason for not using correct grammar. For instance, if I were to use and a lot in a poem, I must state why I did that in the author's comments.

It must fit the theme of the contest. You don't really have to worry about this, since I reviewed many of the pieces before accepting them into the contest. As doing such, I had to turn down a few or ask those people to revise their poem for acceptance.

Punctuation must be correct. Again, when writing poetry, this rule can change. As, I've stated above, the author must explain his or her reasons for doing so in the author's comment.

No racial or religious slurs are allowed. Slander is discouraged, but grudgingly allowed; albeit in a small amount.

Quality is also important. The idea alone can't just be great; the way in which the author presents the piece must be taken into account.

You, as judges, must understand that if you have any questions about a piece, you will send a note with your question/questions to both the contestant and myself.

You, as judges, are to remember not to vote on a friend to friend level. I specifically asked other judges to join, because I have a couple of my own friends that entered. Therefore, the piece warrants the prize, not the person.
Each rule was followed strictly, so I am now proud to present the winners of my Contest!
