Alright, throughout the time I've spent on DA there has been one thing that bothered me...There are wonderful artists out there who deserve your attention, and most are people who have art forms that have nothing to do with painting or anime. Now, I'm a big fan of painting and anime, but I think photographers, sculptors, glassblowers, and all should get more attention. Even sewing a pillow is a good creative skill that needs appreciation.

Now, I won't spend my time showing you photos since there are a lot of featured ones out there...Millions even... 0.0
I'm just going to focus on the vague perspective...And that's absolutely none!
I'm going to post all sorts of artists who my friends and I have chosen to feature based on originality, emotion, and of course creativity! That means all the art we can find kids...

Please note that this is the first of multiple feature articles that I will be posting. As I make my articles, with critiques and links, I'd love your input and suggesstions for artists you believe deserve attention on DA.

Now, I take no shame in critiquing art. For those of you who believe critique is negative...I should tell you that you will be slapped with a fifty foot bass if you mention it to me... ^^

DEFINITION TIME:

Critique: A critical review or commentary, especially one dealing with works of art or

literature.

My Usage of the noun/verb was taken from Dictionary.com

Usage Note: Critique has been used as a verb meaning "to review or discuss critically" since the 18th century, but lately this usage has gained much wider currency, in part because the verb criticize, once neutral between praise and censure, is now mainly used in a negative
sense. But this use of critique is still regarded by many as pretentious jargon, although resistance appears to be weakening. In our 1997 ballot, 41 percent of the Usage Panel rejected the sentence As mock inquisitors grill him, top aides take notes and critique the answers with the President afterward. Ten years earlier, 69 percent disapproved of this same sentence. Resistance is still high when a person is critiqued: 60 percent of the Usage Panel rejects its use in the sentence Students are taught how to do a business plan and then are critiqued on it. Thus, it may be preferable to avoid this word. There is no exact synonym, but in most contexts one can usually substitute go over, review, or analyze. · Note, however, that critique is widely accepted as a noun in a neutral context; 86 percent of the Panel approved of its use in the sentence The committee gave the report a thorough critique and found it both informed and intelligent.


Ok, now to continue...I will be posting a critique with every icon I link to. It will give my views of what I think of the art as a whole, as well as support comments if I believe it could help make things better. Now, that may be a rare occurance when you see how beautiful this art is.



PHOTOGRAPHY SELECTION

- Her camera angles are beautiful. She makes her pictures more appealing and

captivating with the use of black&white, Sepia, and Color Contrast with the background.



- Her use of black&white gives her pictures a spooky feeling. It looks

like something right out of a horror/fantasy novel.



- Her art seems to focus on horror/macabre, however, she has some very

beautiful and interesting photographs.






SCULPTOR SELECTION

- His glass pottery is not just beautiful, it's amazing. The unique

designs truly catch one's eyes.



- Her wooden intarsia arts are adorable and very clean. She's truly amazing with her work.



- This man's unique blacksmith style is sure to catch your eyes. I'm truly in love with his candle holders.



- This is a woman of multiple talents. I'd love to see her do more with metal and ceramics.







TRADITIONAL SELECTION

- This man's art is very into realism. Some of his art strikes me as comic book material, but most of it looks like a cover to a fantasy novel.



- I'll admit...I'm genuinely terrified of this man's art. However, anyone can see that it is beautifully done. It shows emotion, and that's what makes his art special.



- His paintings portray much feeling, and they show a lot of effort and time in my opinion. He deals mainly in realism, and his portrayal of movement is amazing.








DIGITAL SELECTION

- This artist can be both noted for her traditional and digital art. However, I've chosen her digital art to present. Her color choices, as well as style makes her art very beautiful.




- Her art is anime based, and though her fanart is wonderful, her original characters stand out beautifully as well.



- I honestly believe that this girl could become a great graphics designer for logos, banners, and websites. Her art is extremely colorful, and lively.



- This woman's coloring style, and her line art is absolutely amazing. She could just use some practice on making backgrounds, lol!








POETRY

- This writer really puts a deep though on human nature.



- This is a beautiful and sad poem. However, it shows an emotion that many hide inside.



- This is probably one of the best poems I have ever read. This writer sure knows how to hook their reader.



- This poem is quite short, but I believe it hits its topic right on.
