DA: Boycott the presence of Guillermo Vargas!

`red5:iconred5: reports, April 25, 2008
In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died.

Yeah, I remember that when it was big news in 2007. I though he/sponsors would have abandoned the hope of setting up another show after the rave it had. Sad to see it not stopped :(

Wikipedia says the dog was only tied up for 3 hours and was fed, and after that it managed to escape... I only hope this version is true  But this is cruelty, no matter what the 'artist' claims, I guess he needed a scandal to get famous, most people are so indifferent nowadays, they only pay attention to really shocking stuff :( and this kind of things spread so quickly over the internet via blogs and e-mails and such... I guess he got what he wanted :(

Anyone can change Wikipedia and Guillermo or some one who knows him can rewrite Wikipedia to put him in a more favorable light than what really happened.

What's truly awful is that if anyone saw the same dog starving on the street where Vargas found it, they would not care at all. No one even did anything to stop its suffering when he was in the exhibit. I think that's the hypocrisy he was getting at.

Also, I believe the bit about it only being starved for 3 hours came from the gallery director. Maybe if the gallery director had seen any foul play, he would have just kicked his ass out. But you never know...
