Better Digital Photography Magazine-Free online

reports, 11h 19m agoFrom the Publishers of "What Digital Camera" and "Amateur Photographer", IPC Media today has announced a new online photography magazine, "Better Digital Photography" that people can read free and fully online, it is also interactive with embedding video tutorials from the magazine and mouse-over tips. Aimed at the entry and intermediate level photographer, it is heavily devoted to equipment and technique-focused photography content.
From the IPC Media website:
Publishing director Alex Robb says: “This is an exciting and innovative new venture for the photo portfolio. The editorial team have worked incredibly hard to create bespoke content, including technique videos and other interactive content. I am delighted that we have secured distribution to around two million photographers to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the excellent tips and advice. Better Digital Photography is a further indication of how IPC continues to innovate in this competitive sector.”
Editor Mat Gallagher adds: “We wanted to create a product that helps the reader expand their knowledge, while being easy to use. It is thanks to the talents of art editor Steve Crabb that we have managed to produce such a visually stimulating and accessible magazine that surpasses anything else in the market place.”
My thoughts, this is downright awesome and VERY well done, it is like looking at an actual magazine, but the fact that it has videos embedded within for tips, tutorials, and techniques, make this even better! You can also subscribe for free, via email for upcoming issues, make personal notes within the magazine, and download a copy to your hard drive. GO GET IT!

Gay Art - Great to be proud!

reports, April 27, 2008A lot of times I've heard the stigma that a lot of the artists are gay (And i'm talking about lesbians too of course).
But as one of the gay community, I "bumped" into a lot of gay people that are creating art of all kinds - so I guess that the fact that a lot of artists are gay or lesbians, isn't such a stigma - maybe it's quite true.
Maybe we use it in order to express our feelings and our protests, and trying to say what we say to sociaety by art.
But unforunatlly despite the fact that a lot of artists are gay, the gay clubs in DA aren't that popular, and the most works we see that are popular in DA and connected to this subject are photographs or drawings of two women in a lesbian act - that created by man.
I'm not trying to stick to statistics of course, but most of the time that what I saw when I searched for gay art in DA.
And of course I'm not saying that this art isn't good...but I think it's expressing something really different.
So let's get to the point of this article. I'm not writing this in order to make a statement...I just want to explore you to some of the goods in my opinion of Gay Art in DA that didn't have enough stage time.
Some of them are trying to make a statement, some are trying to show some hurting situation in the community, some are just trying to show the beauty in it and some just want to be PROUD!
Some of the works here are made by Gay artists and some by Straight that are trying to support. Let's see if you find a different between those two

As a proud photographer and aritst...here are some of my gay art too:

I really hope that the Gay art is just going to grow in DA!
Because we have A LOT to say in our art!
