Is there a size when submitting photos to DA?
Yes. The minimum size of a deviation posted to any Photography gallery is 400 pixels on any side. This means that the deviation cannot be smaller than 400 pixels neither in width nor height. Photographs smaller than this size requirement should be placed in your Scrapbook.

Its all pretty self explained right?
If your photo is under 400 pixels and you post it in any of the photography galleries a Gallery Director will move it to scraps.

If you thought this, like 100’s of others myself included you would be wrong.

It seems some photos that are clearly under size, when reported are not moved to scraps.
Im a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to things being in the correct galleries. If I see something in the wrong gallery I will report it. After all if staff didn’t want me to report things that little “report” button wouldn’t be there screaming at me to press it
The minimum size used to be 300 pixels then the galleries had a face lift it was taken out of the description when submitting photos.
Now the size has changed to 400 pixels.
So why are there so many photos that are undersize not moved?
You’re probably saying “Then report them Debbie” The thing is I have reported them. But depending on what Gallery its in and who the Gallery director is that takes the case will depend on if it will be moved to scraps.

I don’t care if photos are submitted under 400 pixels or not. To be totally honest with you I have seen a lot of photos that are under 400 pixels that in my opinion are some of the best photos I have seen on DA. But the rules say 400 pixels. There should be no give and take on this.
No matter what the photo is no matter who submitted the photo, be it a member of DA or a staff member. If a photo is under 400 pixels move it to scraps. Or change the rules to no size.

In saying this I realise that some people submit Panorama . _{( If your not sure what a Panorama is. A panorama is any wide view of a physical space. It is also often called a wide-angle .
If you’re still lost in easy term you can get a special lens that takes very long photos. Or more commenly used you take a few photos put them together along side each other to make a long photo.)}

As you can see there are a lot of great Panorama’s out there that don’t go under the size limit.
So why is it some under-size photos are not moved and some are?
Some photos are about 380 only 20 pixels under the min size. This I think is ok. Still Should be 400 but if it’s a real jaw dropping good photo then a little lean way is ok. Im talking about a photo that is about 800 x 120
120 pixels is not anywhere near 400 is it. So why is it when I report something like this its not moved to scraps. When something else I have reported something only a few minuets before hand, being 340 pixels is moved for being undersize. You would think the photo that is 120 pixels would be moved and “maybe” not the 340 if it’s a really good one.

Please don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the artist or the GD who is or isn’t moving photos.
I’m writing this because I am really confused.
I want to know what is ok and what isn’t ok. I want to know why some photos under 400 pixels are allowed and some aren’t. I want to know why not all photos regardless of who submits it, regardless of who the GD is.
Shouldn’t it be one rule for everyone..
I am not writing this because I have had something under 400 pixels removed from my own gallery. No not at all.
I would truly like to know how this all works.
Every time I ask someone I get the run around.
Notes I have sent go un answered, emails I send go unanswered.
Why are my questions not being answered?
Are my questions really that hard to answer?

Please treat everyone the same.

This means everyone not just Joe Blog down the road.

I understand there are some great photos out there that are under 400 pixels. But the rules says no photos under 400 pixels are to be submitted..
So again I ask why do some GD’s let these photos stay in the Photos Gallery?
All I ask is that everyone be treated the same. No photos under 400 pixels no give and take. Or take the 400 pixels rule away.

deviation one: 1600 by 355 - moved by GD
deviation two: 779 by 161 - not moved by same GD

deviation two was of quite less quality than deviation one <sub>(again, not image links not supplied because it is not about pointing fingers)

If you have photos that are submitted that are under 400 pixels please don’t take afence to this. I am not trying to attack anyone, Id just like my questions answered. As no one seems to be able to give me a straight answer. I keep getting the run around.</sub>
