deviantART Presents:
Louie Schwartzberg
As part of deviantART Film, we are excited to share with you a rather amazing gift from world renowned cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg.
For those not familiar with his name, Louie Schwartzberg is a 30-year veteran of the film industry and a visionary in the field of time-lapse cinematography.
Odds are that you have seen his work somewhere in movies and videos, such as: The Bourne Ultimatum, Die Hard 4, Syriana, Crash, and classics such as Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, American Beauty, Men in Black, Koyaanisqatsi, and E.T among many others. Television credits include Alias, CSI: New York, and American Idol and of course, many more. Loiue Schwartzberg has also distinguished himself as a premiere director and cinematographer for many commercial clients including Kodak, ABC, United Airlines, and Coors Lite among many others.
In 1997 he founded BlackLight Films with the goal of using the power of media to inspire and entertain through television programming, DVD products and full length motion picture and IMAX films, including the release of the studio's first feature length theatrical film, “America's Heart and Soul” which was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Since the launch of BlackLight Films, Louie has produced a 26-part series for The Hallmark Channel, Hi-Def broadcast specials, and currently has a 1-hour special airing on PBS entitled “Chasing The Light.” Louie is a two time Clio award winner, a Mobius Award winner, winner of the Heartland Film Festival's Truly Moving picture award for his theatrical feature documentary “America’s Heart & Soul”, and an Emmy nominee for his Discovery Channel special, “Oceans of Air.”
Now that you know a little more about the artist, you’ll be thrilled to know that Louie is granting you, the deviantART community, access to 150 clips of his cinematic work for use in your own films and art. This includes beautiful nature images, time-lapse imagery of clouds and sunsets, ocean settings, exotic destinations and other masterfully shot, pristine imagery, all available for download in short 10-30 second clips for your non-commercial use.
You may edit the clips to your hearts content, but please keep in mind that they are intended for non-commercial use and will be regulated with existing deviantART policies regarding stock resources.
