Alright, time for the big show!!
...In three days. What big show, you may ask? Why, that's when the Mini-DDs has its second anniversary! Yeah, I honestly can't believe this has lasted for two years...Well, actually, I can, but I'm pretty sure most people expect to hear sentimental stuff like that.
Anyhow, so I've got a little event planned for then...But I won't reveal all the details now. It won't be massive like the Best of 2007 Extravaganza, but hopefully I'll be able to pull off something you can enjoy.
The timing is pretty convenient, by the way. The whole thing takes place just two days before my DA anniversary, & three days after this edition here with a nice, round number...Hopefully those are some good signs, huh?
Well, we've certainly got a fine crop of DD-worthy features this week as well! I had to actually break a few personal guidelines this around, but eh, screw it. This is a special week & I needed to make sure that everything here was mindf***ingly Grade-A (I mean, it always is, but I just wanted to solidify...Oh, you get the idea).
So come back here on Thursday the 8th for the special edition! For now, let's get on with the main event!
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:

...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a delicious milk chocolate center! And for this special occasion, that stuff in Dairy Queen ice cream cakes that's a mix of melted chocolate & cookie crumbs has been added as well!
Oh, & feel free to check out the Mini-DD Archive afterwards right here:
[link]Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...

Okay, so I may have already featured *
spookydoom here just over a month ago...Along with this character, in fact. But oh my friggin' god,
Patchwork Umbrella was just too motherfrakkingly amazing to ignore! Those eyes, that style, that concept, that mood that really just pulls at your heartstrings...It just all mixes to create a perfect character piece & a thing of beauty. The person who doesn't love this? Soulless, dammit!!

Now, maybe there's some kind of social commentary contained somewhere in
LAPD by *
tarrzan, but frankly, all I cared about was the sheer badassery of it all. The wicked creature design, the great choice of colors & light, & all the work & detail that went into this, right down to the cherry-on-the-top tattoos...It's all just so damn menacing, mesmerizing, & just plain brilliant. Bravo!

With
Muffin Mango, =
Iris-Zeible has done the near-impossible: Take a ridiculously cute & lovable original character & make her even
more ridiculously cute & lovable! Iris' style compliments this lovely lady perfectly, & with a perfect color scheme & an irresistably charming atmosphere, helps make this Deviation as sweet & delicious as the titular muffin in the picture.

thecleber captures the spirit of those old-school cold war-style propaganda posters perfectly with
Propaganda 1, which ends up being a striking piece of work thanks to the great style, great colors, great attention to detail, & even a nice little message behind it all. Truly, this is one bold & retro Deviation that you shouldn't miss out on.

A perfect expample of artwork that's both dark yet beautiful,
tragic hero by ~
grau-gestreift just contains several little elements & details that stand out & make you go "Ooooh"...The eyes, the wings, the pose, the lone pawn, the tip of green, the overall mood...Mix them together with a cool character & grau's unique & impressive style, & you definitely have yourself a winner, folks. One awesome canine indeed.
Egocentrism by ~
JrDragao is one wicked little cartoon that had me in stitches for a bit! The innovative & funny concept mixed in with a simple & effective color scheme, that adorably-drawn sun & old-school psychiatrist, & the overall cool style, & you have one humorous & impressive design that would indeed look so awesome on a t-shirt (Threadless, ya listening?).

...Okay, yeah, sorry the translation sucked balls. Blame
WorldLingo for it. Let's try this again in English:
Combining some impressive anthro artwork with pure patriotic love for his country, ^
skifi shows us all one awe-inspiring piece of work with
2M. Everything here - the style, the cool fursona, the warm colors, the font, the wrinkles in the "poster", the pose, everything - makes for not only a perfect anthro piece, but a perfect way to pay tribute to a part of Spanish history as well.

Dear ~
cronobreaker: You rock. Your gallery rocks. Deviations such as
How to make a... rock thanks to your unique, amazing, & lovable style, great sense of humor, funky little designs, love for killer robots, & knack for what would look awesome on a t-shirt. You should indeed definitely be happy with supremely wicked stuff like this, & please don't ever stop kicking ass. Sincerely, Sly.

Question: What's black & white & red all over & blows your freaking mind away? Why,
Panda Barf by *
schwarzer-todt, of course! An impressive style + A great use of minimal colors + A great amount of detail + The right amount of cuteness + Drunk pandas = One stunning piece of pop art. And really, just look at those pandas & tell me you can resist them. I dare you.
...& that's all for this week! If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., they'd be greatly appreciated! I hope you've all liked what I've featured this week, & I'll be back next week with nine more DD-worthy works of art! Sayanora until then! ^_^

Once again, though, sorry for the translation. It particularly kept tripping up during "Awe-inspiring". >_<
btw, just for the heck of it, I saw this odd thing in a Deviation that may have been a mistranslation...Is there any way to confuse the Spanish translations for "I'm not afraid" & "I poop ice cream"? XD
Anyhow, congrats again, thanks, & make sure to check out the special s*** I mentioned here: [link] ^_^
