reports, 2d 22h agoThis is a link to a site devoted to getting out awareness of a disorder called Infantile Spasms. There is as of yet no cure for this disorder, and the treatment for it (anti-epileptic medicines) can have serious side-effects. Symptoms generally start to appear between 3-6 months and stop by age 5-6. Though I.S. resolves itself, many children who develop it will develop other types of seizures which may last their entire life.
This father, blogging about his child and his own attempts to cope with and raise awareness of this disorder really touched me, and I simply thought I'd share it. If you think you have a good forum for spreading this awareness even further, I encourage you to do so.

Every year since 1999 Peace Over Violence has organized Denim Day USA It is a rape prevention education campaign, where we ask community members, elected officials, businesses and students to make a social statement with their fashion statement and on this day wear jeans as a visible means of protest against misconceptions that surround sexual assault.
