Did you know?

that photographs of Tattoo artists at work belong in the Tattoo category only if the actual tattoo is clearly visible? If the tattoo is not the focal point of the image, it belongs in the Photography Gallery.

that Collagraph is a Printmaking technique where materials are added to the plate, instead of the plate being carved or eaten away by acids. If you glued things to a plate and sealed it, then inked and printed it either in relief or intaglio technique and obtained a print, the image of that print belongs in the Collagraph category of the Printing Gallery on Traditional Art. If you didn't do that... well, it belongs elsewhere

that "Busts" in Sculpture refer to creations representing the head, neck, shoulders and usually a small section of the torso? It's like a three-dimensional Portrait. Full body sculptures belong in the Figurative category.

that the Drawings category "People" is for works showing a person or a group created without the use of reference or a live model, and "Portraits and Figures" is for life studies or references of real people? Keep it in mind: "People" is made-up, "Portraits" is from life or photos.

how to submit a Daily Deviation Suggestion for the Traditional Gallery? ^
oilsoaked, ^
limnides and I (^
stigmatattoo)are in charge of choosing the Daily Deviations for the Traditional Gallery, so all you need to do is send ONE of us a note (not to all of us at once, please). We don't ask much in ways of guidelines, but here is what we do request:

Title your note "DD Suggestion" and include the suggested deviant's name.

Include a link and/or thumb of the piece.

Tell us why you think it deserves a DD.

Please check if your suggested deviant hasn't gotten a DD in the last 3 months.

We may be overloaded with notes, so don't feel bad if we can't reply to your note. Be sure we read and check them all.

I've taken the chance to address some common educational issues with this DYK, remember that we're always available to answer your doubts or look for someone who can. Just drop your Gallery Directors a note
