The Eco-Awareness Contest.
There is an appalling lack of awareness of all things ecological. It is a sad state of affairs and I am extremely passionate about spreading the word. The Killdeer Family and their story have been featured on the six o'clock CBS news and is appropriately titled, "A Lesson in Nature". You can read more about their tragic fate in my journal here:
[link] Deviations that promote eco-logical awareness are what we're looking for ... however your creativity guides you, whether it be visualized through photography, digital manipulations, film, literature, mixed media ... everything will be considered. Entries can be serious, humorous, dramatic or playful ... even political *gasp*

Be creative.
If you would like to donate anything to this contest, would like to help me judge entries, and/or would like to feature this contest in your journals, I would be eternally grateful.

Updates on the Killdeer Family Story

The CBS news affiliate came out today and filmed the story on the heart-breaking plight of the Killdeers. They stayed for almost three hours interviewing and filming. Our story, "A Lesson on Nature", was featured on the six o'clock news. The Sun Sentinel, Fort Lauderdale's major newspaper will be at our school on Thursday to recount our story to share with millions of South Floridians. Take a stand, speak up ... be heard!
To learn about how this contest came about, you can read about it and meet the late Killdeer family in my journal here
