I became interested in Polish Poster Art when i found a smallish yet thick book of poster in the library on the subject. The book has since disappeared from the library, probably on account of a student, not unlike myself, that enjoys absorbing interesting books at high costs from public libraries. A personal habit I have since broken. Poland was at the crux of both World Wars, but poster art began in the 1910's. I see the art as having a human element first and foremost, and also being textural like Dada and minimal and organized like constructivism. The art was very important in cultural identity and also in opportunity for artists. Polish poster art by nature is very graphically based. You can see in this example [link] a common typeface that morphs in and around many posters of this type. Here are some examples taken from Deviant art or artists who used similar styles or were influenced (some to the point of imitation) by polish poster artists.
This is an emulation (I Presume) of the artist Jan Lenica (c) This was originally conceived by Tadeusz Trepkowski(d)

This [link] is a Polish Poster for a Japanese movie. I hope you have enjoyed this News article. Love,
wow, great article! though it is new to my ear, polished artworks, it is not new to my eyes, therefore; you have open me a genre of art that i an being influenced by, but never really though of it's origin.
Thank you for this article. In Poland we indeed have some interesting poster art tradition. I was trying to create a nice mixture of the old and the new and I hope I've succeeded.

I did them for a project at university for a polish art film. I thought it was great and a challenge to do designs in this way.
I've heard of people creating Polish posters on the trains with bits of paper and everything, it's both extremely simple and extremely difficult at the same time I thought.
`arcipello's artwork is instantly recognisable. His vibrant colours and sci-fi scenes are breathtaking at times, pulling you into a world where man and machine live in colourful harmony.
An inspiration to many, Daniel's dedication to his craft is evident throughout his gallery, with many of his beautiful prints hanging on walls across the globe. In recognition as being one of the most successful artists in our deviantART community, we're delighted to award this month's Deviousness Award to `arcipelloRead More
