Today at the 133rd Preakness Stakes, part two of the Triple Crown, Big Brown once again powered his way to victory. There were 14 horses entered, but one had to be scratched, so only 12 other horses were there to challenge him. Geyego, who placed 17th in the Derby, was the only other horse from two weeks ago to try and rechallenge Big Brown.

Starting from post #7, the only worry Big Brown's jockey had was if the horse got dirt thrown up in his face by horses in front of him. There was no problem about that. Big Brown broke cleanly from the gate and by the time they approached the last corner, it was the Kentucky Derby all over again.

It was deja vu as Big Brown swept by the other horses on the outside at the beginning of the homestretch. The jockey didn't even use his whip the moment they were eight or so lengths from the rest of the pack. At the end, Big Brown hadn't lost any energy at all. In fact, it looked like an easier race for him than the Derby! When they replayed the last few strides to the wire, the colt wasn't even running in that full-out gallop horses normally show!

So here's to a potential Triple Crown winner!!! The first in 30 years!
