At school we have this program called 'Are You MAD?', standing for 'are you making a difference?'
The idea is that each homeroom group/tutor group thing has a project to help people in the community.
Things the groups do varies from:
taking breakfast to one of the disadvantaged schools once a fortnight [they have a breakfast program but only 3 mornings a week, so we fill in a morning as well]
visiting a refugee family once a week, playing games and helping with their studies
Collecting socks and jackets for the homeless
collecting old mobile phones so the parts can be recycled
mentoring programs to help kids with their homework

and other random fund raising activities through the year.

I want each and every one of you to Make A Difference in someone's life. It doesn't matter how big or small it is, it can be organising fundraising in your school/work community, going down to the local nursing home and talking to the people, anything at all. If you have an existing project like this, it is also enterable

For the winner, I am offering a 6month sub, PLUS, if you commit to doing it regularly, i will continue your sub until your project ends. So if you go down to the nursing home once a week/fortnight for the next 2 years, you'll have a sub for the next 2 years.

For the runner up, a 3 month sub and the same

prizes will only be issued once i have proof you've started your project, ie a photo

To enter,
Plan your project and send me the plan [what you're doing, where it will be, who it will help, why you think they need help, how long you expect it to run for, anything else]

I will be the sole judge [unless anyone wants to volunteer?], and projects will be judged on:
Originality [minor]
How many people it will help [major]
Length of project [major if something like nursing homes, minor if something like fundraising for burma/china type activity]

While i'm not expecting many entries for a contest such as this, I'd like everyone to try and Make a Difference in someone's life, no matter how small.
