This is a new series where deviants send in a maximum of five(5) thumbs of works they feel should have more attention, regardless of the stats the works or the artists have garnered over their time here; the suggester makes his or her own definition of "unknown". Each suggester, if possible, may write a short reason of why they selected each(a few or all), length is up to the suggester. Suggesters are not limited to any gallery.

I fell in love with *Himmapaan's work from the moment I saw it. It's like seeing all the best from the old fantasy masters, rolled into one artist. It was a struggle to choose one piece, but I settled on this one because despite the simple "plain" subject matter, it has the feeling of being so much more than a girl and a bull. It's like peeking at the first paragraph of a novel and *knowing* it's going to be worth the read, you're getting the first image of the story and you want to know more about this girl, and why she's with that bull.

... it's a girl riding an ostrich to rob a bank, how can it get any better? That aside, the colors as superb, and the composition is unique and eye catching. And it makes me laugh, instant plus.

*TereseNielsen is possibly one of my favorite artists who work on the magic the gathering games. You can just fall into her paintings, looking at all the textures, the rich colors, the fabulous compositions. She's simply amazing. I honestly couldn't decide which of her pieces to share, so I closed my eyes and picked at random.

I actually played around with the thought of doing a similar image at one point, because I've always been fascinated with the look of a woman half in the water like this. I've never had time to, which made me sad... and then I stumbled on *myceliae's gallery and discovered that she'd done a similar piece and itw as simply stunning. There's so much mystery about what the girl looks like below, hints of the fantastical that are never flat out shown. And the colors... ah the colors are so lovely.

And finally this just popped up in my watch list and I had to share. Probably the most detailed and beautiful ear wrap I've ever seen in my life. It's so unique and elegant, definitely a piece of jewelry I'd love love love to wear.

For me, these images do not convey so much any forms of "truth" as they do a sense of wonder. They remind me that, for me personally, a true artist is one who can use any, ANY, available means to create. That there is mediocrity, and then there are those equipped solely with the sheer power of imagination and the passion to translate thought to realisation.

I am amazed that this deviation isn't drowning in favs - from composition to model and everything in between - it deserves to be seen.


A lovely stock image for both trad artists and digital - it appeals to the darker side of my art and I am certain it will also be inspiring for the darker artists in a huge way. On a side note - I'd love to see this vectored


I am (as most folks know) a sucker for premade backdrops - this is one of the most impressive stock backdrops I have seen on dA so far. Super high quality - surreal beauty - something I would have actually purchased as a resource. It is truly a gift to folks who utilize the free resources on this site.


Still a beginner - but you can't tell as far as I'm concerned she executed a visual for envy in a captivating, color saturated kick to the groin. I predict she will blow everyone's mind as she grows in her artwork.


While the clarity is lacking - I am still inspired in a huge way it's so over-the-top unique, I would hate to see it get lost in the crowd.

This artist is really unique! And you can see his art as the old fashioned one, but the best old fashion, with icons enlightened in marvelous golden colors. His models look so vivid. And no doubt he has a unique talent & style!


Eye Of The Beholder by =devouredex.
He is one of the best traditional artist artist I've seen in dA. He uses unique colors contrast that makes his drawings completely amazing. He gives life to the portraits. He has the talent to capture the emotions in his drawings.


Song of the Angels by ~LordAvatarZ.
This artist is greatly inspired by the Masters of Paintings such as Bouguereau, or Rembrandt. It's not a copy, because you can see in each details and techincally he's one of the best drawer I've ever seen!


The Moon and The Stars by *natasha-cinnamon.
This English artist has her own style. She's so unique that you can feel yourself wandering in her forests. Artists with their own style and touch are so rare. And i love hers! She makes her paintings on deep-edge canvases and really the exercise is difficult and so her talent more is evident!


Le regard by *Moniki.
This Canadian artist has an incredible talent to capture emotions. Her paintings are like living beings. She has a strong tie with charity. You can note that in all her creations, she even donated one for the Solidarity Contest. Her paintings usually drive me to tears.

There are few digital artists with galleries and styles as creative as the work from ~einen. This deviant has been with the deviantART community since 2002, yet he remains relatively unknown. Wander through this person's gallery sometime -- you will not be disappointed.


Pirates in the Storm by *sculptin
A sculptor of immense talent, *sculptin joined the deviantART community in 2004, and what a fantastic contribution he's made! Most of his work is temporal in nature: snow, ice, sand, you name it! This is probably one of the most impressive galleries you'll find on deviantART.
