It's finally time, I wanted to do a series of news articles for ages, and now here it finally is - the first one. The theme is, as the headline says, 'unusual anime art', because people using the anime/manga art style don't always draw the 'typical' things such as cute, huge eyes and shiny hair.

If you would like to suggest someone who should be featured, feel free to note me! Two things I'd like to mention about that - first, feel free to suggest yourself. Second, but please don't suggest people who are already extremely popular (let's say, with 2000+ faves per picture). I'd like to give less known artist a chance with this feature. ^_^

Anyway, enough talking, let's start with the talented people out there! :D

~whitelapin is a great artist who definitely deserves more comments and favorites - her pictures, even if it's sometimes fanart, look like they're telling a story instead of just showing random characters shown on an image. Her works are detailed, pretty and definitely worth a look!

~okuko's works are full of amazing details and wonderful color choices. She also manages to make fanart look absolutely stunning, but you should definitely take a look at her original works too, which are at least equally well drawn.



The style of ~OtaKuchan26's art might be sketchy and simple, but her art is often inspired by rather unusual subjects that are definitely worth being mentioned, such as the fact that one of her pictures is based on the dark origin of a nursery rhyme that not many people know about.



~chibititania's gallery is full of things you probably wouldn't expect - instead of a happy lovely Valentine's picture, you get the complete opposite; instead of a simple one-colored background you actually get to see her practices and, of course, her unusual style. Also, her gallery has cute icons and stamps for you guys, in case you're not much into anime-styled art.



Both the traditional and digital work of *Dokitaro is very detailed and beautiful. Her gallery doesn't really have any similar pictures, since she tries a lot of different poses and backgrounds. She's also very good at drawing animals and her style is different from any other typical anime style, so you should definitely take a look at her art, even if you're not an anime fan.
