There is a disease, here in America. A disease that starts in the mind and works its way throughout the rest of the nervous system, it gets lodged in the head of it's victim and cause them to become paranoid and nervous of everything around them. They try to protect themselves from everything their mind gets the slightest notion that might be dangerous. And as they avoid things it gets worse and worse. Eventually they wither away to nothing. They die.
Can you guess what this disease is?
It's the media, and I'm here to warn you about it and tell you how you can protect yourself from it.
First of all, unplug your TV. Today's paper, wad it up and throw it on the ground. That magazine on your desk, put it in the paper shredder. That's right.
Now, then. The media is driving this already dysfunctional nation over the edge. Children, talk to your parents about this. The media is blowing things well out of proportion. The local news never puts out anything but "Suicide Bombing Kills 211 Civilians And 78 US Military Soldiers", "Virginia Tech Massacre", "Boy Dies While Chewing His Food", "How Music Is Making Our Children Commit Unspeakable Acts", and "Meat Is Murder". Its all total bulls**t. Complete, and total bulls**t.
Kids and teenagers, who generally don't give a f**k about the news, are usually unaffected by the blatant propaganda-radiation the television puts off. If you are one of them, good for you. If not, please take a moment to panic. Ready to move on? Good. Now, while children and teenagers are generally immune to this sort of thing, their parents are not. And the parents, in turn, pass it on to their spawn. 81% of all American adults are victims of the media. Yes, it is THAT bad. And the numbers are rising. Why is all this happening so fast? I'll tell you.
The peoples of America are under the spell of the media and it's propaganda is even telling them that they should drag the free-thinkers down with them. Articles such as "How Music Is Making Our Children Commit Unspeakable Acts" are sending parents into a panic about what their offspring are listening to. Cannibal Corpse didn't tell lil' Billy to take a chainsaw to Grandma's face, "Wisconsin Lumberjack Goes On Killing Spree" did. Kelly didn't kill herself because of a Suicidal Tendencies song; she did it because of "WKHM's Special Report On Rising Teenage Suicide Rates". They even target some of their lies at the youth of the nation, with articles in Pseudo-Teen Magazines entitled "Meat Is Murder" and "Save The Whales". Not that there isn't a good cause in saving the idiotic whales, but don't you think cures for AIDS and autism are more important? Besides, these people then become extremists and halt the advancement of society.
How do we stop this scourge? We don't know.
The currently is no cure for the media. The most effective remedy out there right now is punk rock. One of the very things the media is trying to put down. The therapy of punk rock is best followed by a post-therapy of thrash metal. There are two medications that can be prescribed as well, Black Metal and Death Metal, but they are more of a preventative measure, not treatment. That's right. Music. Music puts things the way that nothing else can. It's a reflection of our culture. Please, talk to your parents about the dangers of the media and try not to fall prey to it. Help us find a cure. Rebel.
Devious Comments
I mean, I agree, but is this whole artical a joke or what?
It has a serious point. I just chose to express it in a semi-satirical style. Kinda a mock-propaganda thing.
Watch the music video for American Idiot (by Green Day). It has the same things this article does. The irony of him telling America that they need to stop letting television rule their lives, in the form of a music video is what got the point across. I decided to use the same technique here.
Ya know what I'm sayin'?

I\'m so tired of being told what\'s true and what isn\'t... why don\'t they just feed us through tubes and get it over with?
Ah, that\'s right. Someone might notice...
Suddenly, the Matrix doesn\'t seem that far-fetched after all. Too bad I\'m not falling for their schemes. I think it\'s about time to stand up. It\'s been 40 years since the last revolution...
WE\'RE OVERDUE.
