Ok everyone, this Bi-Weekly Feature goes to *
AshleyXBrooke87 below is an Interview i conducted with her so everyone could get to know the Photographer behind the lens.
Q: Your name please:
A:Ashley Brooke
Q: When did you decide to become a photographer?
A probably when i was around 14 or 15 but i've been shooting since I was a lot younger. I remember when i was in Elementary school and i ALWAYS took a disposable camera when we went out on field trips. So its always kind of been in my blood.
Q: What does photography mean to you?
A: Photography means capturing a moment in time. Kinda like putting life on pause. When shooting you capture a moment thats going to last a lifetime.
Q: Can you recall the first photo you took that made you go WOW!?
A: It would probably be my Outsider shot. I put it on the computer and my idea had come out better then i expected.
Q: Do you have any formal training regarding photography?
A: Not really. I've learned some stuff from my dad and also i took a photography class in highschool.
Q: Define the word "beauty"!
A: Beauty is whatever you make of it. Its something that catches your eye and leaves some sort of impact.
Q: How does your personality change when you look through the camera?
A: I feel a lot less stressed. I feel like when im shooting its just me and no one else around. Its just a really nice tranquil feeling.
Q: How do you feel about missed shots which cannot be recreated?
A: Eh what can you do? You can beat your self up about it or move on and shoot something even better. You cant dwell on the past it will just drive you crazy
Q: Ever concerned about failure?
A: All the time. I always think "is anyone going to like this" or " Do they see it the same way I do" But when it comes to photography you have to do it for yourself then everyone else should come second. If your out shooting to please someone else you wont please yourself.
Q: What is your favorite image, either your own or someone else's or both? Describe its creation or meaning to you?
A:

This is my favorite of mine. It just shows somethinh that goes on in a lot of peoples lives. We've all been in that spot in one case or another.
Q: Describe a day in your personal or professional life.
A: uhm i sleep

haha ok ok Well I work a lot so my days are normally spent at the coffee shop. But when I go out to shoot i try to get up as early as possible so I can spend the whole day out

Q: What are the biggest personal or professional challenges you face on a daily basis?
A: Uhm trying to become somebody. Meaning trying to go somewhere with my life.
Q: What has been the single biggest obstacle against growing as a photographer in whole?
A: I guess just trying to get myself known. Its hard to get your stuff out there.
Q: What are your favorite subjects to photograph?
A: macros and conceptual images
Q: Have you ever thought about or actually stopped doing photography? What were the circumstances?
A: Ive thought about it. Its only when i get frustrated with my work and i dont see changes in the photos im taking. or if im having a photo block and cant think of ideas.
Q: Do you ever have photographer's block and if yes how do you deal with it?
A: ha read above. Photographers block SUCKS. Usually since i do a lot of fun macros i'll just look around my room for stuff to shoot and just sit for awhile shooting random stuff. Sometimes it works sometimes not. If it doesnt thats when i get really frustrated. I had photographers block for 3 months at one time. You just need to get past it. Or force yourself out and shoot.
Q: Who or what would you love to shoot that you haven't already?
A: I've done a little bit of portraits and they turned out really well so i would love to try to get into that more
Q: Which do you prefer: Landscapes, Portraits, Still-Life,etc...and why?
A: Still life. I'm a sucker for conceptual images and thats usually what still life is.
Q: Where do you feel most comfortable in a studio, or on location when doing your shoots?
A: Never been in a studio to shoot but I like being outside and shooting. Like i said earlier it just helps you forget about everything and makes you relax.
