The world over, many artists are inspired by art of another medium: music. This universally emotional conduit has proven time and again how inspirational it can be when it comes to visual artists and the creations they bring into the world. Pretty much everyone can relate to the ethereal feeling of seeing a vision in your head when that certain song begins to play on the radio.

I, myself, am incredibly inspired by both music and lyrics in my own art, and decided to create a regular news feature specific to certain bands/musical artists to showcase the works on DA that have encapsulated those unique visions that music gives us all.

Bands are chosen by me based and searched in the DA database. I am more than open to suggestions if you would like to see a certain band or artist featured. Choice of art is based on personal opinion for original works inspired by songs/lyrics/bands. I will not be including fan art, concert photography, any art including use of the band's copyrighted album art, photography or logo (unless logo is applied to an original art work), or any "interpretations" of a copyrighted image the band has used. I will feature original art works, from an artist's imagination based on the featured band.

This Feature: EVANESCENCE
Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1998 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.After recording two private EPs and a demo CD named Origin, with the help of Bigwig Enterprises in 2000, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003. Fallen sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards.A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere but Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which has sold more than four million copies.
