Underappreciated Anthromorphic Pieces

~lenatheloser:iconlenatheloser: reports, August 24
There are a lot of anthro artists out there on deviantART, but there are some pieces that I sometimes stumble upon and say "This is amazing!" And I feel that even though it is great, there aren't as many people seeing it and enjoying it as there could be.

Anthro Artist Interview: *aun61

^skifi:iconskifi: reports, May 31
Welcome to the seventh issue of the
ANTHRO ARTIST INTERVIEW/FEATURE
This time we speak with *aun61

Deviant since 5 years ago, has more than 4000 watchers, around 45.000 favourites received, and 800.000 deviants have viewed his drawings.

:star: At first try, you may think :iconaun61: *aun61 is a bit shy, and maybe you're not wrong, but it's also because, with Thai as your mother tongue, it's not easy to be talkative in an English language based site like deviantART. However, he has managed to be one of the most respected Anthro Artists here, and now we have the chance to interview him for these series.

Short but sweet

:star: Personal Information:

:bulletgreen: So, to start with, whats your name, A-un?
Worapon Yuangngoen. I know it's quite hard to read Thai name, that's why I'm thinking of an English name like Tony Jaa :P

:bulletgreen: Well, I remember last time I sent you a postcard, I needed to print the address label, since I was not able to write your name in Thai, hehehe ^^ Also, to get to know you better, how old are you?
27

:bulletgreen: Hehehe, quite close to my age... In so many years, did you get any formal artistic training?
I graduated in graphic design and took some drawing/painting classes,
but my skill of traditional media is suck.

I got a "D".

:bulletgreen: Well, it could have been worse.... ^^; About stereotypes, let's ask you some more: do you feel like a furry, or are you simply an anthro artist?
I have my avatar as an arctic wolf but I didn't play a roleplay. So I think I'm only an anthro artist.

:bulletgreen: Do you have a Web site we could visit, art-related or not?
I run my Thai furry community at kemodungeon.com and aun61.deviantart.com is my official gallery right now.

:star: Your Inspiration:

:bulletgreen: What is your source of inspiration? Could you share it with us?
Anything. They can be my favorite TV shows, movies, books, games, musics
or just any situations. Also watching other arts, especial in DA, inspires me too.

:bulletgreen: What artist do you look up to?
Tezuka Osamu, Walt Disney, and many DA artists I watch.

:bulletgreen: Now, to change subjects a bit, what do you do when you come across an “art block?”
Stop drawing. I didn't draw if I'm not happy, unless it's a work that I have to do it. I found that finished works during an art block are unsatisfied me.

I won't push myself, just relax, watch some movie, play a game for an hour or sleep. It can really refresh my energy and if I'm lucky I might find an art bright.

:star: Concerning Your Persona:

:bulletgreen: Who is your persona or most popular character?
:iconaun61:
Aunno, the arctic wolf. They say See-It is quite more popular than me, but I reject that.

:bulletgreen: Well, I won't deny I like See-It a lot too, I think it's a cute creation, really. But, about Aunno, How long have you had said persona?
I really cant remember.

:bulletgreen: How did you develop your character? Do you role-play with Aunno?
I didn't play RP but he has a background story:

He is a dungeon master who want to build the huge, fun and varied dungeon to serve any heroes who seek for strengths, loots, fames and whatever (Now you might think about a theme park) But he is so lazy and unreliable, so he has See-It, the dragon, as his secretary+servant+slave to do everything for him.

I didn't change much design on him, even though his costume is boring me. I'm afraid of huge changing would made him unrecognized.

:bulletgreen: What else would you like to share about him?
He is silly, just ignore him.

:star: About Media:

:bulletgreen: What media do you most enjoy, Worapon?
Well... digital. Undo is everything for me. I can change my past, thanks God of computer.

:bulletgreen: Then, which media do you like the least?
Crayons... oh and sculptures.

:bulletgreen: Now, please share with us your favorite piece from your gallery. Explain why you favor it.

It's not the best art of mine using skill or technics, but I love the message of the picture that might left in someone's mind.

:bulletgreen: Let's say I challenge you to try something new. If you have the time, what might you try?
Drawing robots. Mercy me.

:star: DeviantART as a Community:

:bulletgreen: How has DeviantART aided you in developing your artistic talent?
In many ways. I love to watch many beautiful arts and talented artists, they also give inspiration and fashion. And DA makes it easy to browse and discover my favorite ones.

I love to learn tutorials and share them to my computer graphic class, too.

:bulletgreen: Then, what do you enjoy most about being a member here?
I may not interact with other people much since English makes my head spin. Anyway I love to share my art to the world if it can inspire something to someone.

:bulletgreen: I know the feeling, when english is not your mother tongue ^^; Also, what would you like to see changed in order to improve the anthro community?
Just let the members support our lovely admins and take some activity. *cheer*

:star: Last Thoughts:

:bulletgreen: In your experience, have you any advice on building a better portfolio?
Quality more than quantity:

Put your only best works you're really EXCITED to show. If you want to have everything in your portfolio, just make sure that your best works will be featured.

And the most important thing is your UNIQUENESS. What is your special thing that no one can do like you, find it.

:bulletgreen: You know this interview will get a lot of exposure: What other wisdom would you like to impart to our readers?
If drawing is just your hobby, you don't need to hardly improve your skill if it make you suffer: Just be happy to draw.

:bulletgreen: That's a great wish  Now, before we end this interview, do you have any other comments you would like to share?
Please save the animals, the environments and the earth. Thank you for reading.
